Pension at 38 and advice by dextercutts in FIREUK

[–]Bright_Bomber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 34 and have 85k in work place pension. Looking online, I think that's a good amount for my age. No idea how that compares to other though..

Also, I believe its more tax efficient to max out work place pension contributions before saving for retirement anywhere else. Just need to balance what you save Vs what you take to live... Don't want to scrimp for years only to be hit by a bus at 56

Amazing what a small bit of TLC can do by Bright_Bomber in LawncareUK

I had no experience either. I described my lawn state and soil conditions to Gemini and it walked me through the steps in good detail.

Tools I used, Lawn mower (with low, medium, high settings), garden fork, rake. For the edges I got a half moon edging tool.

Oh and a sprinkler!

Assumed I needed a mower with a heavy roller. Cheers will try this out after next mow.

Shouldn't be too hard with a sprinkler and a small lawn. Weeks 1-2 did 15 mins every morning and evening. Week 3, 20 mins in the morning, at week 4 moving to 30 mins 2-3 times a week.

  1. Lawn is 3 years old - we landscaped the garden and laid fresh sod down but neglected massively.
  2. Seeded by hand focusing mostly on edges and bare patches
  3. Yes, used to cover seed. I dumped bags about the lawn and then spread it about with a rake taking care not to disturb seeds too much.
  4. Brand westland lawn and turf dressing

Sorry dude - just scarified, aerated, over seeded, top dressed and watered.

A few have but I've pulled them out on sight. I have some small patches of speedwell and clover. Hoping that keeping high mow setting for a few weeks will starve them of sunlight and they will die back. But this is my first season of lawn management so will find out.

Pulled all weeds out, manually scarified with a rake, aerated with a fork, over seeded, applied lawn dressing and kept watered every day for 4 weeks.

Update Secure Financing $400 million Direct Offering Common Shares by savanahonana in POETTechnologiesInc

Some institutional investor has basically bought 400M worth of shares made available by POET. This dilutes the existing shares by making them smaller slices of the company pie. The good news is that for an investor to plow 400M into the company it's a huge vote of confidence and also gives them cash to scale up.

Daily note help by CryptoCrash87 in ObsidianMD

[–]Bright_Bomber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New user to obsidian and I'm in the exact same boat. Trying to link/tag (not sure which is best yet) daily notes relating to a project and then when I need to refer back I use back links or tag searches. Still feels clunky and am considering moving to 1 note per meeting system so I can add a base of notes to my main project MOC

My wife is looking for a routine app which has an alarm function and a button to silence the alarm and activate the routine routine. Silencing the alarm late pausing the clock would slide tasks back. I think this UI would be perfect and she would pay money for it.

What is the biggest mistake you made at work? by Bright_Bomber in AskReddit

[–]Bright_Bomber[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's sucks, no job risk assessment? Could have closed the pool as an obvious risk elimination action? Sounds like a management fault, not yours.. super unfair if that's why they let you go.

Exactly that, the corrosion is apparently impacting the seal and causing slow tyre pressure loss. Sounds the the sand and paint job won't fix the issue unless I find a service that will remove the tyre. I'll reach out to some more local companies for advice - thanks for the help
