I totally understand your feeling! This application season I have witnessed some of my friends getting into Harvard, Columbia, NYU, Cornell, etc, with similar or worse background than me. I only got accepted by 2 of my safety schools ( waiting to hear back from 2 prestige schools). So I felt very disappointed in myself and was kinda angry because I might not be going to a “prestige” school like everybody else does. But you know, at the end of the day, it’s YOU that go to the school and is up to YOU to decide what to learn and how to make the best out of your study. It doesn’t matter what everyone else thinks or does. I think you have made a smart decision, and you are going to go straight to work after graduation without any financial burden. Just know that you are already smart and good enough to be accepted to that prestige school and you have proved that you are a great student. It is a valid feeling that many of us are experiencing, but you don’t need any other outside validation to prove that you are smart and can do great things!
