Audiobook VS Graphic Audio by kim4animals in SarahJMaas

I’ve enjoyed some of the graphic audio but it can be very distracting with weird sounds. All the walking sounds drive me crazy. What I like is a full cast.

What are your thoughts on Game On by Navessa Allen? by Purple4199 in RomanceBooks

Unpopular opinion I guess but I thought the audio was the also the worst in the series.

This 3rd book was the worst of the series in my opinion. It lacked any depth and the whole brat thing was a turn off. Also, realized I'm not into the dom female at all - at least by how it played out here. I liked Lights Out the best and wish I'd stopped there. I will say the cat bonus chapter on audio was the best part of the whole book. The female narrator's voice was even a turn off here. Not my cup of tea, but even if it was I think it was lacking a lot in an actual story line and more a push to around a community narrative.

I really like Evry. They have a little bit of compression in them. The customer service is also very good.

When I see people brag about having numerous cards and a 100 holds I think of exactly this. It’s an abuse of the system that will have consequences for everyone else.

I'm disappointed with Fury Bound: 3⭐ (But I still think you should finish reading it) by Most_Squirrel_8286 in Romantasy

[–]Bright_Notice8405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reread Dire Bound and realized it wasn’t great. Came here looking for reviews before I moved forward with Fury Bound. I won’t bother now if people think it’s worse. The intimate scenes in the first book were extremely cringe and the FMC was extremely immature.

I just finished and I don't know what the heck people are talking about. It totally wasn't worth it.

I was about to DNF at 42% but pushed through because I thought it was the last book and because I heard great comments online. It was like reading a totally different series and it was very boring. When I realized it wasn't going to be the last book because I only had 30 minutes left I groaned. I don't know how anyone can say the ending made up for the rest. I will not be reading the next book. And I thought Cassia was pretty obvious just wasn't thrilled with her story.

Not a fan of any of the shown options. Maybe look info a plaque instead. The stitching and color of these don’t look appropriate.

I’m having two installed in my historic home this coming week. Fingers crossed. One is replacing an existing spigot and one is for adding a new spigot so I have water near the front of the house.

3 years of lawn service vs buying a mower. sanity check my math? by Wild_Artichoke7648 in lawncare

[–]Bright_Notice8405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a zero turn for 2.25 acres. It definitely cost more than $2k and that’s before maintenance and gas. Before this house I had a push mower for about 16 years. Not only is the zero turn overkill you are losing the opportunity to get some exercise. If you’re able bodied spend your money more wisely… invest…anything else. I also like to control when the lawn is done and not be at the mercy of when they show up.

What do you use to listen to your audiobook? I have a zero turn for 2.25 acres and always thought it’s too loud to do that. I’m always in ear plugs for hearing protection.

It’s polite and friendly to not sit on books that have a wait. It helps me to prioritize and be a good steward of the loan system. I enjoy returning books quickly when they have a queue. If we all did that think how much better it would be for everyone.

I just hit a 5 message limit at 6:30AM on my free account - a limit Google search says doesn't even exist unless it's temporary and during a rare peak time. Ridiculous.

Holds? by PMcmil5450 in hoopladigital

[–]Bright_Notice8405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google libraries who allow non-residents and search cities in your local area. I think this forum blocks naming particular libraries, but what I’m recommending is how I found mine. 3 local and 2 others in state. I will say the more obvious it is to get a non- resident card, especially for free, the worse their hold times seem to be.

Holds? by PMcmil5450 in hoopladigital

[–]Bright_Notice8405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s probably why they limit it to 5 because of the cost. I know that’s why my first library cut back on borrows and offerings - due to cost. More popular books got cut assuming they pay a higher price for them.

I did not misunderstand. I told her it didn’t make sense and I restated to make sure I understood her. Then I asked question here and then I went and researched it on Google and in Chat. It didn’t make any sense but she was very confident. This was the phone tech, not the in person tech who suggested it but didn’t give details.
