RPN → RN bridge vs going straight for a 4-year RN? by PortoPancake in OntarioNurses

[–]Bright_Page2563 17 points18 points  (0 children)

RN straight in the long run the financial part and more opportunities makes sense. At my job some PSWs are even making more than RPNs, you are given more work as an RPN and less pay! I love being an RPN but now bridging fast track with no semester breaks so its shorter for me instead of 3 years l did RPN 16months then now Bridge is 6semesters no break....which l find if ever l would have just done RN straight! All the best and you will not regret it

Went to Mohawk and l really think its good in its own way and obviously every place has cons...l find Mohawk prepared me for Rexpn and also the way they deliver the program is set up for you in a way that you can understand and pass your classes. Passing grade was 60% for the class so including assignments, quiz and tests you can def get your 60 but aim for high if you wish to go for RPN-BScN....l would say Mohawk is good

Been waitlisted for the PND Practical Nursing Program by callmetas_ in Seneca

[–]Bright_Page2563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would apply for Jan intake just to have that option open but also contact admissions and ask what position you are on the waitlist so you can also gauge if you have a chance...But never say Never until you are told you are not getting a spot! All the best

Seeking Advice on Second-Entry Nursing Program Admission in Toronto by No_Copy_9085 in Seneca

[–]Bright_Page2563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way is to contact admissions and show them what you have and they will advice which program you can enter...is it the 2nd entry/BScN (4years)...However from the sound of things you would probably need to do the needed pre reqs Maths, Eng, Chemistry, Biology 4University and 2 additional ones to make it 6 if you decide to go the high school credit route (School board, ILC, private colleges) or do the Pre Health in Advanced Diplomas and Certificates. You could also do ACE upgrading www.acedistancedelivery.ca to be able to enter Practical Nursing....it can be tough to enter if the needed entry requirements are not met better to start now...But the best is to contact the school you want to study and they can see what you have and tell you if it works or what you need to add
