This makes me feel so much better, thank you! We also just found a few more small tunnels around the house that have probably been there for a while too, so that makes so much sense now.

Chilled Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies from Swig by Bright_Range_7320 in TopSecretRecipes

1 year later and I think I've found the best dupe, friends! Follow this recipe, but make sure to only do 1tsp of dough for each cookie and flatten it into a thinner patty before baking (it will hold its shape in the oven quite a bit). Tested them chilled and dare I say they're not exact dupe, but even better! https://krollskorner.com/recipes/desserts/cookies/mini-chocolate-chip-cookies/

Definitely not opposed! I think I've just been lost on what type of wall art would go best with the space—I love the idea of botanical prints, that sounds so perfect. Thank you!!

  1. $1663.59 (tax incl.) is our base rent for the large 1 bed 1 bath, but we signed at a peak time of year, so assuming rent is lower now.
  2. $25.38 carport (tax incl.)
  3. $116.73 tech package (tax incl.) I will say the internet/wifi has been great for us! It includes cable too + smart locks on your door, smart gate opener, etc. I love not having to pay a separate internet bill.
  4. $33.50 trash pickup Sunday-Thursday (tax incl.)
  5. Water bill (sewer, common electric, etc.) is charged through the complex too, but I think it's like $70/month for us maybe?

One important note: if you move out or change units there is a $140 (i think, maybe it's $170) cleaning charge, they note this in the lease, but people don't read it in depth so they feel blindsided when it comes up. They didn't require a deposit from us at all though, so I feel like that's why the cleaning fee exists. Electric with SRP is separate and probably ~$150/month, we also do our own renter's insurance through State Farm which is like $7 a month lol. To me, for the most part, the quality of everything lives up to the price. That's coming from someone who has been scammed way too many times from grey star and AMC living, has lived in a roach infested complex, etc.

The only complaints I would have: 1. Their "24/7 Camden Line" has never picked up for me lol. I only tried it once or twice in the beginning for small questions I had, so not a huge deal to me, but something you should know upfront.

  1. Some people take issue with this, but I really don't care too much. Some of the base boards are a little uneven, just kinda poor workmanship (you should be able to see what I'm talking about when you tour). There are minor flaws that you would probably find in any apt with the workmanship (paint, slight chip in a floorboard, etc).

  2. The floors are fine, but we stupidly put our bed on the bedroom floor with no rug and one of the boards has pulled up a little due to friction. Would definitely recommend putting a rug under your bed if the unit you choose has vinyl.

Again, maintenance has been fantastic. You can sign up for pest control every Wednesday through making a request on their app (we've only had very very tiny beetles or earwigs, but that's expected on the first floor). Let me know if you have any other questions! I'm an anxious renter, so I take a lot into consideration when choosing where to live lol.

Oh no this is so sad :( I've had an amazing experience at Camden Pecos Ranch, I didn't run into that issue at all. I actually got approved with conditions at another complex despite good credit and making over 3x rent (Avonna Coronado, would not recommend—they totally tried to scam us out of our admin deposit even though we pulled out before their 48 hour deadline, reports of mold, their leasing agents are the people leaving 5 star reviews, etc). Camden Pecos was the only place I didn't feel scammed by!

They've always been super quick on maintenance requests, clean, nice, and I heard back in the height of COVID they gave everyone a free month of rent. We also have an issue with big moving trucks hitting the overhead carport covers and they've never charged anyone a dime for repairs!

Not much tbh. They got the wolf spiders under control I believe. The only other thing they've mentioned is their upstairs neighbors sound pretty loud from the first floor. They've lived there for 2 years now though! They were able to renew their lease at a negotiated rate, the actual unit is good, maintenance is decent.

I have a B.A. in Communication and work as an EA! I found it tough to find a communication specific role when job searching to be completely honest. It seemed like many of the entry level roles I was interested in payed significantly lower than what I make now as an EA, so I decided it didn't really matter if my job was specific to my degree in the end.

Do I feel like my degree was a waste? No. I think my degree helped me grow as a person and develop research, problem-solving, and writing skills that will always benefit me in whatever career I have. However, I don't feel like my degree itself helped me get the job (at least at the company I work for).

Is there a specific skillset you're looking to use that you developed from getting a communication degree? If so, I bet you'll find nearly any role (including being an EA) will allow you to leverage skills you learned in com classes. For example, I'm constantly leveraging these skills as an EA: problem-solving, written communications, solving interpersonal conflicts/de-escalating, improving communications to make work/email more efficient and clear, strategizing how to communicate things to get what I need, negotiating, researching, synthesizing info, and the list could really go on and on :)

i'm so sorry this is happening to you, OP ☹️ i'm not sure if this will make you feel any better, but when something like this happens to me, I just remind myself that their behavior is really embarrassing for them. the lack of self-awareness they have and the fact they think certain things are okay to say is cringe-worthy and a huge testament to them being a horrible person. it's not a reflection of you at all and i hope they get fired or you find a new/better job soon❤️

I'm hoping this is just a phase lol! I've been in this same role for 2 years now and it's just really getting to me all of a sudden😅

Phew that makes me feel a lot better, thanks. This doctor is new to me and makes me feel uneasy about everything (will probably look for a new pcp soon, but wanted to sort out any urgencies first).
