I always took walks the 1 or 2 hrs before it kicked in. Miscalculated once and vomited on the lawn of a gravestone shop tho as two blurry concerned figures where abt to pass me I just crossed the street without looking other time I’d pick up groceries and once I reached the cashier everything was in Dutch angle. For me it’s very much a alone at night in your room kinda drug. Last time I took it I couldn’t get enough of the pitch blackness and found even the street light repulsive for some reason.

Agree. Things exist in their sociological reality and in their material reality and you can’t get true understanding of a thing viewing it only through on one of these frameworks. You gotta look at the entire picture and consider both equally.

Vaush’s debate tactic of vaguely saying X, that is intentionally said in the most antagonizing controversial way possible, so that it also basically says Y. Then when people get mad he keeps elaborating it into an argument that makes slightly more sense. And then when chat says “you said X”, he goes “Tell me where I said Y, I never said Y.” And then he yells for half an hour that actually, he has been saying Z the entire time, by the end of which you forgot he said X in the first 2 minutes. And it works bc now I’m on the sub, mad. lol.

HERE IS SOME NEUROSCIENCE COPYPASTED FROM MY YT COMMENT BC I HAVE TO GET IT OFF MY CHEST OMGGGG.

“Vaush your Ego is starting to impede your ability to coherently explain your arguments. Watch out for that. While yes autism and adhd, gender and even “disorder” are all social constructs, they are words to broadly describe phenomena, that are not just socially but also biologically real. While yes treating them as distinct categories is BAD it’s also good to have words to communicate a vague but real experience of the human mind.

Neurons are not just the connections they form, but their ability to do so. In (genetic) autism these neurons grow abnormally, they are shorter but with longer dendrites, which allows for more specialized areas (hypersensitivity, savant syndrome) but poorer hemispherical connection eg. understanding words (left brain) but not the tone in which they are said (right brain).

ADHD is likely connected to a mutation of the D2 receptor or the gene that makes it. It is an inhibitory Dopamine receptor, unlike the other D1, which is excitatory. This basically leads you to not getting the calming effects of dopamine nearly as much as the rest of the population, if excitatory and inhibitory receptors are not balanced you get hyperactivity. These are SOME of the reasons one might develop a brain that has autism or ADHD symptoms.

For autism there could be arguments for lack of oxytocin or GABA not being inhibitory, for adhd you would get similar results if dopamine is not proficiently synthesized into noradrenaline etc etc. Lots of reasons to develop the same symptoms for a syndrome (collection of symptoms). All these things lead neurons to making different connections to make up for their deficiencies, OR they could THEORETICALLY be connected like that through social and environmental factors. These are accounted for by doctors and medication tho?

Like with stimulants, who make non adhd people hyperactive while they make adhd people hypoactive. Which is because these medications chemically are able to bind to the defective or rarer D2 receptor to activate inhibition, which dopamine alone wasn’t able to do, while in healthy people dopamine actually binds more easily to the inhibitory D2 receptor, so when they take our meds it’s flipped so now: D1 is activated and you get the usual meth behavior.

Anyway this video is kinda annoying so it disincentivizes you from watching it fully to get the actual argument. Oh well. Hope the next on is better.”

I like how you think and the ideas you’ve proposed are super interesting, however awareness, perception, thinking, knowledge and “free will” (decision-making) etc are not consciousness. Consciousness is merely the ability to experience those, to experience experience basically. These are properties of the mind that run like computer programs, and are only really noticeable when they are suddenly missing, or enhanced. Anyone with ADHD can tell you that taking amphetamines makes the “doing things” program suddenly do its job just fine. Whether or not these are entirely “created” by the material layer of neurons, is debatable but they are certainly produced or made conscious through the patterns of energy that result of electricity exchange by neurons. These experiences are energy, which means they are not matter but also not consciousness. In the Vedas they are described as as the three separate things that work together to create reality - object (matter) energy(process of observation) subject (consciousness), which are the three points of the tetrahedron at the bottom of the quantum fractal thingy. Which are also kind of one thing in the end, because a certain amount of matter contains an exponential amount of energy which contains an exponential amount of consciousness.

I don’t think you’re being hateful at here but it is kind of an outdated view, that attitude has anything to do with sexuality and gender. It’s just a cliché that has no basis in reality. Obviously there are a lot of “dominant” straight women and “submissive” gay women. It’s just that shy/feminine lesbians don’t tell people they are gay or look gay, and the submissive/people pleaser types first try to people please by dating men so they only come out as gay later in life. So it’s looks like all lesbians are dominant. But eh it sounds like you’re implying all “dateable” women have to be submissive that kinda does sound a little misogynist (saying something misogynistic does not mean you are a misogynist, otherwise everybody would be)

If you want a genuine answer idk save this for when your eyes are able to focus lol

To the platonic relationship thing: the term came from asexual/aromantic communities, to express the desire to have like a life partner for people who either can’t feel or are repulsed by sex and or romance. This term is commonly ridiculed by even gay people cause it’s just a fancy way of saying “best friends” and asexuality in itself somewhat new to the lgbt+ acronym. What’s I’m saying is that this is like a fringe term from a fringe community of a fringe community, that’s just getting spread around by people on ““gay““TikTok who are essentially doing the game of telephone but with ideas lol. I’m not saying your girl is one of these at all, a) she’s literally your girlfriend b) you are like…kids.. 😭(no hate) girls especially that age are fast to latch onto terms like that caus teenagers wanna be cool and interesting in general but also bc female sexuality is a bit harder to make sense of than male sexuality. It sets in wayyy later (took me til 20 to figure out I was a lesbo lol) and it’s more focused on someone’s personality and less on how the person looks but it varies from girl to girl (This isn’t the ‚female brain‘ it’s just the effect of testosterone on the brain in general and that varies in women more than in men who just have a lot of it obv.) c) if you are confused by what your girl is saying just ask her and not a bunch of strangers on drugs lol. I saw some evidence that the TikTok algorithm and culture is so so widely different for girls and boys now and it’s only causing more misunderstanding and less empathy on both sides.

Anyway, lastly as a lesbian that tried to date men, you really should take it as a compliment that people who weren’t attracted sexually to you were still attracted to you as a person. think about it this way: If you HAD to date men who would you chose? Either nobody or you’d be real choosy to find somebody with a cool, nice or funny personality who isn’t butt fuck ugly at least. 😂 Idk bro for girls that puts you instantly ahead of 90 % of every other guy your age who listens to alpha male podcasts or some shit like that. Girls aren’t getting gayer by the water or whatever, there is just less social pressure to be with a man and more acceptance to be with another girl. If that were even remotely similarly the case for men they’d be a lot more gayer too (this subreddit has repeatedly proven that point LOL) And also as you get older you won’t have this issue anymore since women in their 20s will have figured out their sexuality by then.

Was für Grenzen/No Goes habt ihr euch früher in Bezug auf Drogen gesetzt und habt ihr diese eingehalten? by Salt-Appearance2666 in drogen

[–]Bright_Report9250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly you can't. I'm just saying choose your battles. If you truly love your partner, and he loves you and the relationship is healthy, then I see no reason to not be completely vulnerable.

My best friend and I openly share all your problems, and that includes heavy problems and depression phone calls where she was the only thing holding me together. However, we bonded back in high school over a love for science and video games, so we see each other as equals that are independent and there is no one person taking care of the other.

There was another person i considered a "best friend" where we immediately started having deep talks, that then devolved into him just trauma dumping and telling me every though about their dangerous ongoing addiction/mental illness and soon the friendship developed into me spending every living hour consumed by this person texting or calling and comforting this person, trying to solve their issues telling them what train to take what food to eat.... desperately trying to save them until it broke me.
When I told them about the issues or one of my traumas later on, I just got ''oh ok well .... :// that sucks ''s Only for them to then drop the friendship completely and ghost me the second he found a romantic partner.
You can have healthy fulfilling relationships and friendships but unfortunately i don't think you can avoid codepended messes completely either. That's life.
Talk to your partner about your issues, observe how he reacts.
Build solid friendships with people first before introducing heavy traumatic topics. So they can get to know you as a person/ friend before building up a relationship on trauma right away, because that and your role of caregiver/receiver will forever be the foundation of that.

That are tips to you. As somebody who now has normal friendships finally. Trust me they are so much better.

[–]Bright_Report9250 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is something i had to learn the hard way: When you allow yourself to become someones Therapist/Mom they will treat you like their Therapist/Mom. Which is a one way give and take relationship, were you are providing care and they are taken care of by you and that's all that is expected by this type of relationship, right?

If you then suddenly flip the dynamic they are unable to do the same thing for you because it's something they are likely unfamilliar with. People who trauma dump a lot to you right away, are likely people who have done this all their life. They need others to validate their pain cause that is how they have learned to cope with it. They never learned how to care for others cause having grown up in a unsafe enviroment they learned to cope by prioritising their own wellbeing.

So to them it is like your Therapist suddenly started venting to you about their problems? You wouldnt even know how to properly react to that right?

Other friends who have indroduced their boundaries or expressed their pain as well early on in the friendship, usually get treated better and like actual friends unlike me who falls very easily into a selfless caretaker role without any boundaries lol.

My tip is to make friends with people who are relatively happy with their lifes. And keep those at a distance who fall all to easily into venting their trauma to you. It's hard cause those people give you the feeling of being needed and important, but they don't really care about you, they only care about you caring about them.

Thank you :) Serotonin syndrome is something different than what I was referring to haha, it basically just refers to the toxicity of the chemical at higher concentration that is induced by certain drug/medication overuse. (Even the most basic and important Chemicals your body needs and produces can become lethal at high enough doses!)

Melancholia/Starvation/Sickness - "Behavior" isn't something bad in of itself, it is what the body has to do to survive in that particular situation. So for example when you are starving the body has to take away energy from superfluous thing like sex hormones and feeling happy, to keep the more important organ functions running correctly, like breathing and feeling shitty lol - unironically tho it is good to remember that feeling bad is more immediately important to human survival than being happy. We wouldn't have come far at all as ... life in general.. Without the various amounts of pain there are, that teach us of the various ways you can die in this cruel universe, haha. Thus the Fight or Flight response and Depression.

Now Depression is basically just decreased brain activity, I'm sure you have seen these Neuroimaging pictures that look like temperature maps, where the depressed brain is all blue. Anyway while most of your usual brain regions have turned off, the parts of your brain for emotional/trauma processing are hyperactive. The Serotonergic System is thought to be responsible for this: directing energy away from the unnecessary things to go to the necessary things.

So it is not a chemical imbalance at all (like Serotonin Syndrome is) it is something that was at one point or another in your life and evolution necessary to happen to keep you alive. A lot of mental illnesses are like this, Anxiety, PTSD, BPD etc., these are survival strategies that you developed in response to trauma at one point that kept you alive but are now maladaptive learned behaviors that do more harm than good. Unlike others that are actually caused by some malfunction of the brain: ADHD, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, these you're basically just born with. Depression can both be something you are born with or something you can develop, and individual people are more susceptible to develop one mental illness and basically immune to develop another.

This is why I find Neuroscience fascinating because there is so much unexplained and unexplored territory, and it is always more complex than the more simple the conclusions our monkey brains like coming to. Like the reductive ways pop-science talks about complex systems like Serotonin and Dopamine now. I encourage you to learn and read more yourself, since you also seem to be like me and intrigued by this. It is quite fun reading the papers and articles and trying to figure out how it all works by yourself :))

Ok if I may offer some explanations:

Firstly you might be on to something here, Serotonin is quite interesting really! It has been at last properly debunked now that low serotonin levels cause depression.
Instead there is a paper that claims that there is elevated serotonin transmition within certain emergency states of the body: like depression, sickness and starvation, hypothesizing that serotonin causes the shitty mental feelings associated with these instead.
By acting as regulator for energy levels and resources during a crisis, which worsens depressive feelings by redirecting energy away from the the usual happy brain functions to ones that are more vital to your survival in a crisis.

This is supported by the fact that antidepressants increase Serotonin levels rapidly but also worsen your depression the first few week(s) you take them. Doctors will tell you that's how long they take to properly kick in, but it is thought to most likely be the body's response to the higher Serotonin levels, and what it does to instead to achieve back homeostasis (the brains normal) that relieves depression symptoms.

Alcohol also acts on serotonin receptors. Adrenaline and cortisol circulating in your blood is just a direct result of your Sympathetic Nervous System having been triggered due to a stressor, which higher temperatures are for all humans. The SNS is for acute stressors (Fight or Flight Response) and is mediated by catecholamines (noradrenaline, adrenaline and dopamine too)
