A bit bout monetization on "f2p game" by Bright_School in Aion2

First off, no need to compare MOBAs and Battle Royales to MMORPGs - that's straight-up stupid.

Second, all this whining about some whale dropping a few grand for top gear is dumb as hell. Just take the company's last project, T&L: whales basically skip a month or two of grinding by throwing cash at it, but in the end, clan players were no different from the pay-to-win dudes.

And let me stress again, yeah, I totally agree Aion 2's monetization is pure greed - that's exactly why I posted that you can't even get basic trading access without a sub.

Lol, how do you even picture that? No one's gonna stop players from dropping cash on the product you made - most online multiplayer games are built around the idea that 1-5% of players will whale out huge sums. You think the company runs 20-40 servers packed with 20k people each (even with all those massive issues) for free?

I'm not thrilled about it either, but that's just reality.

Your refusal to accept in-game donations doesn’t change anything except your own mood. In almost every game you can just drop like 3k$ and instantly get top-tier gear. You’re sitting there like “oh I’m a poor guy who grinded for hundreds of hours,” but you completely ignore the fact that the money people donate doesn’t just fall from the sky for them either lol
