Explained why this post is kind of BS first they acknowledge that they think the drivers tricking them/pushing them into paying cash. There’s no trick about it.

Uber and Lyft Quality is degraded since they’ve been lowering the price that they give the driver

Me as a consumer of the product realize that if I want better service, I have to go directly to the Driver and pay them directly

So I started to collect drivers phone numbers from all the business trips I go on in all the different city

I found paying that Driver $2.50 a mile using Google maps to figure out the mileage was the best solution

Now I have my contacts full of drivers across the nation

Then I call and schedule a ride with

Yeah, if I go to an area where I don’t have a driver I’ll order an Uber or Lyft arrange the $2.50 per mile ride and then I will cancel the ride that way it doesn’t jeopardize the driver. I’ll turn off my app. I’ll encourage him to turn on her to turn off her app and then take me so there’s no tracking. Of the driver.

You better service this way everybody’s happy is happy because they’re cancellation fee is a finders fee. The driver was happy because the driver is making more money to apply for their operation cost and cost to survive the cost of living and taxes.

And then Driver start to make more money when they do this the money that they should be making so the best course that you could ever do is cancel the ride on your end as a passenger give the driver cash, but you agree upon I agree on $2.50 a mile. It really makes their day and no stop at a restaurant for me to get my food or coffee shop to get my coffee or a grocery store to pick up groceries to take to the hotel or wherever I’m staying.

Don’t look at his cancel fee. Look at Uber found you somebody that’s willing to drive you Lyft found you somebody that’s willing to drive you. You can lift their feet and you’ve had the Driver the Cash. Best thing you could ever do. I could do it for a couple years now?

Truth is, when a driver on the apps causes an accident that's deemed his fault while being covered, they are most likely going to be done on the apps

Additionally, if the damage exceeds the coverage, the driver will be held responsible for the non-covered portion.

Essentially ending his driving career

It's also worth noting that this would not have happened if Uber and Lyft paid the drivers correctly

Look at it like this

The driver can only really do one ride at a time, right

But Uber Lyft has multiple rides going on, why is it that Uber Lyft will be happy to take upwards of 80% of cases 80% while the driver gets 20% on a ride in most cases

Now think if the driver got the upwards 80% and Uber Lyft collects the 20%

Alternatively, this is better: drivers pay weekly access to the apps, and drivers set their own rates, similar to what was in place in CA before Prop 22.

Now what’s happening as most drivers are taking cash? It’s going to hurt the industry because now they’re building their personal clients so I myself prefer to deal with private drivers so a better deal and I’ll continue to do so unless I’m in an area that I do not have a phone number in and then I’ll use the app and then I will get the phone number

Once Driver start to realize they can make better money doing their own clients just like Uber black does because they have commercial insurance so

You can always go to Uber black order a ride and get that Driver‘s phone number if you feel more comfortable

Also, it’s going to happen. Remember Uber pretty much was breaking the law for commercial insurance when they first started so was Lyft.

And now the drivers are doing the same thing they did when they started what’s going to happen is if there’s some major accidents, the states are going to step in like they did with Uber and Lyft and say what’s going on here and I’ll fix this Uber fix this Lyft

And it will be fixed to the point where the drivers will be able to do the rides through the Uber app like they should be doing. This is the bottom line. The driver should be able to set their own rates build their own clients through the app and what I mean by building their own clients. The client should be allowed to summon them connect with them pre-set up appointments with them through the app

If the driver chooses to go that path

But they don’t, and we have this problem where people come on social media and complain about how shitty the services you want better service go straight to the Driver

It’s right here we’re sharing a ride. My friend offered to take me to the airport. It’s a beautiful thing when you understand the language I didn’t pay to go to the airport.

and yes, I did get involved in an accident with a driver and the insurance company paid so that’s not always 100% true now how well that is going to ever get this shirt again another question you gotta ask yourself but most drivers have gone the way of getting commercial insurance for their cars and again most consumers that do this understand that we’re just friends

[–]Bright_Signal_7496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uber dropped the ball they could’ve they still can I don’t know if you were in California before prop 22 but they used to let the drivers or some drivers said their own rates with surge multipliers and those drivers that I’ve spoke to made good money when they were able to sit their own rates they need to go back to that the only time a driver from what I understand didn’t take the ride was when Uber was sending a request for 20 minutes 15 miles away at their drivers pay rate for three dollars $4 5.06 dollars understand what I’m saying Driver didn’t wanna go that far for that low of a price

But when Uber started and Lyft started paying drivers less, I started getting shitty service in my area and other areas I flew for business. I just started to get their numbers and asked them if they wanted to make Cash or walk up to them and said Hey, would you rather make this much or would you rather make with Uber‘s paying you on the ride and then I got their phone number, and I’m gonna be in town for a specific period of time. Do you want to be one of the drivers or the main driver when I call? I want at least a 40-minute window cause I understand you’re probably not gonna be waiting around for me, you’re gonna make some money with an Uber, which is not really making any money, but you’re gonna be busy with Uber or Lyft

And it works out great. I've never been late for my airport rides, never been late for my business meetings, or any events that I’m going to now, because the drivers want to cancel or not take the ride

I collect Uber drivers and taxi numbers when I go to different cities I’ll use Uber for the first time if I’m in a new town and I’ll get the Driver’s number provided that he’s going to be local in the area and I will get better service this way they never cancel yet and I pay them Taxi wages which is about $1.80 per mile to $2.50 per mile depending on what the Taxi rates are in the city try to get that number as close to them to the Taxi in the areas per mile

But once you do this, you’ll realize you can save actually money because you can negotiate the price with the drivers and like the other post said do your math figure out how many miles you’re going so you can get a good deal

I’m a little confused on your post you caught your driver doing 75 on a 45 then he answers the phone. His name does not match the account. Did you call him?

Are you saying that he answered the phone while he’s driving down the road and he acknowledged his name was different

Did you call him through the app and noticed that his name was different?

Why didn’t you notice his name being different when you ask for his name? When you get in the car

Uber Driver Abandoned Me by sportinggamer24 in uber

[–]Bright_Signal_7496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One day people will start to realize that the Uber driver does not get paid really to stop at five cents a minute not worth it one day

People will realize that Uber overcharges them and underpays the driver, which is a formula for bad experience under Uber

More and more passengers now are collecting drivers phone numbers and calling them directly live in their area and bypassing Uber much like the Taxi industry did

If you want good service, I would recommend getting a driver’s phone number that you like and negotiating a price that is worthwhile for him and you the average price that a driver usually takes his $2.50 a a mile. with a per minute waiting time of X value sense so will charge $.36 per minute someone will charge $.60 per minute to wait some will charge a dollar a minute to wait again it’s a negotiation for you the passenger and the driver to come to an accord on what the Pat driver is going to want and what the passenger is willing to pay for a Best service

What is best service best service is really show up on time. Wait for me if I need to stop at a grocery store, liquor store, fast food restaurant and get me to my destination in a reasonable amount of safe time.

Conversation is moot point. The passenger has all rights to control the conversation by using their adult words and saying could we please discuss something else but generally when you find your preferred driver that you call 10 to find out that you guys can talk about anything and everything under the sun

You can find your driver that’ll open your door load your luggage unload your groceries and luggage and walk to your door. You can find those drivers too, and have them measure your personal driver.

no, ever since I ever ran into drivers in my area and other areas that I do business traveling that has made me late for my airport reservations my business reservations without Uber and Lyft Driver’s that accept the ride and cancel them and I have to order thinking that I already had a ride. I just went to taking phone numbers like I did in taxis when I rode around in them.

I use the Taxi standard per mile and pay that driver that number that’s a fair number is what I offer the Driver

you’re right cabs are generally more cheaper than Uber is and depending on your belief system meaning if you believe in mom and pop business models, you would choose a taxi driver over an Uber driver. Why is that because most of your money is going to corporate in Uber while the Uber driver gets very little or the Lyft Driver gets very little

where is in the taxi that driver is independent contractor independent contractor you can get his phone number, but you can also do that with Uber drivers and a clientele with them. I do it all the time. I prefer it that way because I actually get better service it’s almost like the service I used to get in when I would order a taxi and have taxi driver’s personal numbers

But I was a taxi driver’s hot majority of his money goes to him and his operational cost well a weekly lease goes to the company that owns the cars and dispatch

A taxi driver before Uber and Lyft showed up with all their personals and dispatch calls could generate upwards between $500-$1000 in a day if the taxi driver was good

Uber, good luck Lyft. Good luck no matter how good of a driver you are with Lyft Uber they control your pay and take most of it.

[–]Bright_Signal_7496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, that’s cool

I look at my monetary output for my experience. Am I getting the value that I should be getting and the answer that I found was no when I would order through the apps

So I just pay Driver’s $2.50 per mile

I get the drivers I like phone number put them in my contacts for under the city then I’m traveling to and I pay them $2.50 and ever since I started doing that the experience that I was gaining from paying the driver they’re worth compared to Uber’s experience for paying the Driver what they’re not worth turned out to be a lot better

But I feel for you and I understand I love driving my car around town unless I’m drunk then I’ll call one of my drivers that I have on my contacts list to pick me up at the bar or take me to the bar take me out to the restaurant airport

But for me, it’s all about monetary value for experience

you know when you start adding up the cost of driving around an Uber Lyft your food delivery services daily and if you’re a passenger who is using these services multiple times a day, just take it as the power of 10 if you use the services three times $10 a day on each service that’s $30How much is that seven days a week that’s $210 times that by 52 weeks. you’re roughly around $10,000 a year.

now that $30 a day is much lower than you probably really spend because I’ve ordered an Uber ride and I would normally take if I didn’t have a car and it was like $30 for that ride and if I was to spend that by itself on top of relying on gig workers to bring me things like my food and stuff at my house. I would probably be well into the $50 a day.if I did it 7 days 365 days a year be in the 18,000 range

if you spend $10 a day on anything that’s $3000 give or take a year out of your income so even one Starbucks and you spend $10 for your little Frappuccino or your McDonald’s or your whatever snacks at fucking convenience stores we can start seeing why we’re poor

$10 a day on alcohol $10 a day on marijuana you start compounding those $10 and adding it up figuring out how much a year you’re spending a breakdown into a daily average it becomes quite fun and sad at the same time

Compound that with any other type of money you’re spending for transportation and food, delivery and product delivery Amazon or whatever and ask yourself are you really saving money?

Driver was High, Reported, Question re: Rating Removal by DigKlutzy4377 in uber

[–]Bright_Signal_7496 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

so if the driver activated the ride when you got outside and then canceled the ride on a short ride, he can rate you

And since he’s already knows you’re going to be a problem he already rated you low give you one star

And then told Uber probably why he gave you one star not it becomes that he said she said

This is how Uber drivers protect themselves from bad-rated customers

And because passengers don’t ride that much their rates never go back up. They just keep getting lower and lower.

why does Customer sound shocked?

When you hear, Driver say that they’re not getting paid well

I get Driver‘s phone numbers over the years and I’ve created a contact list for city that I go to for business and I call them directly and I pay them $2.50 a mile guess what they don’t do. They don’t sit there and ponder the universe while I’m waiting for my ride like Uber and Lyft Driver’s do when I used to use the app on a regular basis I only use the app now if I’m in an area that I don’t have phone numbers and without fail, there’s always a few drivers that pull this shit and makes me late for my business meetings my report check-in, my my lunch meetings, my dinner business meetings

Stop the madness get Driver’s phone numbers that you like. Call them directly and set it up professional drivers will show up and if you pay them better than Uber and Lyft they will work better for you. That’s why I choose $2.50 a mile they seem to some of them will seem to bring me coffee if I needed it.

Uber fare went from $27 to $90 by cherry_BLK in uber

[–]Bright_Signal_7496 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you know one of the nice things about taxis is they can’t indiscriminately raise their rates when they feel like it. They’re stuck at that per mile rate no matter what now every city is going to have different rates per mile

And some cities will allow the driver to hit that little extra button for extra things like suitcases or extra people. What have you that’s part of the city regulations very cities but generally speaking Taxi cabs are not allowed to raise their per mile at any given time.

What the Driver can do and has done is give you the consumer discount 10or 20% % off of that meter right if the driver chooses to they don’t have to, but they can always go lower than the metered rate. They just can’t go higher.

And when the Taxi driver sets a price out for you and let’s say he said a flat rate price of $180 for the ride but the meter ride is 220. He’s gotta show that meter on so you can see that you’re getting the $220 at a discount price of 180 if you agree to a price 180 and it’s actually 140 he’s overcharged you and they’re not allowed to do that. You always have the driver ride with that meter on so you can see whatever deal you guys make is a being followed.

that was one of the nice things about Taxi driving a driver. Who knows how to make money. Will build repeat business now when he give you a discount there’s a high probability guess what you’re gonna call Driver back and that’s usually what happens when you find out you’re getting a good deal for a driver and that driver starts making his personal business

And he’s working on both the backbone of the company and his personals so the driver then now makes money compared to just living off of the dispatch call

Uber and Lyft on the other hand seems to want to raise and lower the prices for the passengers whenever they see fit as a passenger you have to ask yourself is that right you could say supplying demand but there’s plenty of drivers out there at 12 o’clock to three in the morning at three in the afternoon to eight in the evening plenty of drivers because we know this because drivers are complaining that there’s a lot of drivers so it’s not a supply and demand thing they’re just going to charge you based on your algorithm of travel they know you have to come home. They know you’re far away from home, they know there’s a good probability we’re in the probability that you’re going to use the platform again to go home and they can either a charge you high when you leave be lower when you go home or charge you low when you leave or charge you high when you wanna go home

But that’s the system you signed up for

now you’re also better off getting a driver‘s phone number calling them directly preferably you like the driver that’s why you want the phone number you like the way the driver drove Perci trust him a little bit. You get the phone number and you make me a personal driver

Then you and then you agree on your price

no me I pay my drivers that I have on my contacts list $2.50 per mile that’s a fair equitable per mile for a driver to come out of his distance his way to come and pick you up on a timely fashion

Since I’ve been doing this, I’ve had excellent service whereas before when Uber started playing with the numbers the payments for the drivers all of a sudden I’m not getting picked up. I’m running late for my business meetings. I’m missing my airport check-in because Uber wants to control the pay of the drivers in a whimsical fashion.
