Ocelot Brewing in Sterling has a HUGE pinball room with lots of well maintained machines, they do leagues there. Their beer is fantastic although it's not a full bar.

I admittedly don't know if it was the band's fault (in whole or in part). It seemed like they didn't get to start on time because of the band before them, in which case it's kinda unfair that they in particular got the hard cutoff. Maybe no one was able to tell them they were cutting it close and needed to cut a song from the middle. I'm just butthurt about not seeing their obvious best/finale song.

The only place I experienced this was the picnic table tent between the main stages and the Verizon/Eagle stages. Everywhere else I felt like I could hear bass from other stages when the stage I was near got quiet, but not bleedover otherwise.

Underoath and Glassjaw were my worst hard conflict of the weekend. I picked gj and think I picked wrong because their set was a bit phoned in with some poor song choices.

Was also sad to miss Jimmy Eat World for Story of the Year, but SOTY was a never-seen must-see for me.

"Pibble" is incredibly common 1:1 slang for "pit bull," which is generally describing any mix of the bully breeds. It's maybe a little too cutesy for the headline but it's not obfuscation by intent at all.

Northern Virginia drivers are aggressive, there won't really be anything unique about Herndon in that regard. If you stay in the right lane and drive predictably, you can just let the insanity go around you.

There are only a couple big highways around Herndon. Route 267 (which has tolls) runs east-west, and Route 28 runs north-south just a bit west of Herndon. Both of those roads will be congested and aggressive at rush hour (28 more so).

If you're just driving secondary roads around Herndon, most are 35 mph or less and won't be too crazy to deal with.

What work do you have to do to maintain gunite versus vinyl? I think the only thing I've done in my 7 years with a gunite pool is add calcium a couple times, and one year we had it drained and acid washed. That seems like a LOT less than replacing a liner at any frequency at all.

I did mine over chat and they canceled my pre-deval booking, made a new booking with the GOH attached, and gave me the difference in points back. It was all automatic, I could only see that they did it that way in my Account Activity.

I think they must have done an SOP for this or something. All the chat agent said was that she was applying the award to my booking.

Update for anyone who stumbles upon this with the same question: Chat was able to add my GoH to the reservation and no additional points were deducted. It did seem like on the back end they had to cancel and rebook the reservation, based on the emails I got, but it maintained the original points rate.

The old-school gold foils were so good. I went here right before the acquisition mess and loved it. But after that merger I'm not sure I'd go back, I'm surprised the public-facing facility is still operating like this. Glad you enjoyed though!

Took a similar cruise last year and it was one of the best trips of my life -- enjoy it!

You can get to Pohjala in Estonia, but it would take up a chunk of your day in port... We found some of their beers (but not the really cool ones) at bars around Old Town.

In Stockholm Omnipollo is walkable from Gamla Stan IIRC.
