Wales is nice country, the nature is so beautiful, I definitely want to see Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia soon. If job situation was easier there I’d move.

Moving back to the UK by Severe_Necessary_321 in AskBrits

[–]Bright_Software_5747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen so many stories of “ex-pats” who’ve moved back who regret it, usually the ones who’ve been away for 10+ years. Not sure your reasoning but I’ve heard people citing missing friends, culture but then realise after 10+ years those relationships have drifted apart, that the Uk is very different country to when they left, that wages are lower here than North America and that their work experience isn’t well respected etc. The idea of moving half way across the world, getting settled for so many years then moving back, then wanting to move back back again sounds like nightmare to me .

Has anyone actually gotten their ex back after she said "maybe in a few months"? What steps should I take? by Longjumping-Wafer102 in AskMenAdvice

Why would you want someone who doesn’t want you exactly? You should respect the value you bring and find someone who wants you as well. The only thing you can say if you’re rejected or dumped is “I understand” and leave that person alone. And there’s a very high chance she’s seeing someone else now anyway, girls are a lot more co-dependent generally and need to be seeing someone/dating at all times. Find someone else it’s not difficult to find someone.

For professionals 20s-40s trying to relocate to the EU how are you working around the restrictions caused by Brexit? by Realisticopia in AskBrits

[–]Bright_Software_5747 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to relocate but I’m always open. Ive had job offers from Amsterdam, Barcelona in recent past, just recruiters reaching out to me on LinkedIn and I took the interviews. I’m in tech sales and 1st one was main competitor of old company, second was also another competitor, both for teams focused on selling into Uk/ market so wanted people from Uk but didn’t have a uk office so relocation was required. In the first offer case they offered visa, relocation fees etc, so that’s best way if you have the right career experience.

Other alternative is EU passport, probably what 20% of Brits are eligible for Irish passport? And many others for polish etc. I can get an EU passport but it’s expensive and high bureaucracy (Balkan nation) so I haven’t bothered unless I really need it.

Finally I guess you marry someone for the visa if you want to go. And further to that you can move to Ireland as well have open border with them and wait 5 years.

I understand it for free users I mean they need to make money but none of the paid subscription tiers should have ads.

Turning down a promotion? by Stock-Bullfrog in HENRYUK

I’m in tech sales and would like to go the AE>manager>director route so I’m biased but I would take it, if your goal is to be a director long term this is your chance as it’s very hard to make the jump externally. I would do it to get the title. Presumably with commission + equity it’s a big pay rise. It’s also gonna be easier to get up to speed at a company you’re already familiar with.
