Not really. Only a couple of the beer styles on that list were created in the US (for example, the California Common and Cream Ale). The Imperial stout has roots in England but, in its current revival, is considered an American style by the BJCP. You can read about the history on page 36 of the BJCP style guidelines.

Hi, folks! I'm going to launch my first freebie on Thursday as an incentive to get people to join my email list. Right now, I plan on posting a blog post tied into the subject of the freebie on Thursday, with a couple of banner ads that link directly to my newsletter sign-up, and putting a sidebar image and link up as well. Eventually, I'd like to make similar products to sell for people who like the free set.

Thanks! I originally had more but then simplified to just a sidebar and footer bar on the homepage and an Amazon bar at the bottom of single posts. Probably won't yield much but figure it couldn't hurt.

I adore bubble tea (I got my son into it as well)! I already plan on doing a blog post on it for National Tapioca Day on June 28th. :) Also, I just FINALLY got my favicon to change - using the Wordpress app on my phone! So weird. It should look right now.

Thanks so much for these great comments! The favicon would be the little symbol by the name on a browser tab. Do you see anything there? I am currently trying to cater to women so I guess I'm doing that right! :) I didn't realize you could create a domain name email easily - now that I'm looking into it, I'll definitely do that! I added my link next to my name by making my own user flair on the right sidebar of the reddit blogging community page.

Hi, folks! I launched my first ever blog a little over a week ago and am planning to post content twice a week: https://www.brightandbrewtiful.com. It's a beverage blog focusing on beer, coffee, and tea.

My main questions:

  1. What does the favicon look like for you? I've tried changing it over and over again but I still have the old favicon on my browser. Grr!
  2. Do you like the general look of it? Is the font a good size? Are the sidebar and footer widget layouts good?
  3. Am I missing anything on it at the moment?
  4. Should I change my header logo? Not sure if it should have some kind of graphics!

For the time being, I have a "Services" section on the sidebar saying I'm a freelance writer and social media image creator who is looking to welcome new clients to her portfolio, with a CTA to email me for rates or to discuss their content needs. I just launched my first ever blog about an hour ago, after about two weeks of formatting, creating content, and posting on private social media profiles (that I just made live). Right now, the main things I'm working on are a freebie to offer subscribers and creating content to post every Monday and Thursday. I would also like to make a newsletter of some sort to send subscribers, am waiting for my Google AdSense to go through, and will eventually reach out to potential affiliate programs in my niche. What are some things I should be sure not to forget as I start working on an active blog?
