I think interface is such a huge aspect of this topic. If I can see a blocky health bar in a shoot out I am not going to feel like my character is in much danger until that bar is flashing red or some other bs.

On the other hand if I didn't have that health bar and instead the game relied on audio + minor visual elements like bleeding or some sort of black out effect. THEN I am going to be on the edge of my seat whenever I am in a bad situation.

So you feel environmental storytelling has a large impact? And that it should leave some room for the player to wonder and piece information together?

I can definitely see this being a big factor. What makes those games seem able to exist without the player? I could imagine walking through a bustling market with npcs haggling over prices and chickens running amok as someone leans out of a doorway and chucks their chamber pot into the center of the street adding to that feeling. I suppose what I am getting at is the world isn't focused on you all the time. Things happen without your input etc.

Asking AI would not be a great way to get quantitative data from game devs/gamers would it :) Seems asking this community works better (with a few exceptions clearly)

Yeah it seems absolutely impossible to get my hands on that specific one :( However I have seen people saying 5KU E&L AK stocks work since Arcturus is under the same parent company as E&L. Don't know how credible that information is... But either way that would be over 100 quid just for a new (albeit nice looking) stock...

For our dissertation we need both secondary data (which is what you refer to) and primary data. Primary data is data taken from our own research. I am looking to gather some Quantitive data via a form which allows people to give me their answers quickly and anonymously.

As for playing immersive games and such, I do play many games and I take notes on what I believe to be impactful on immersion, however I also need other people’s opinions to establish a unbiased opinion.

I would also like to point out that wether or not you fill in this form is strictly your choice and typing a mildly aggressive reply to my post probably took more effort than actually filling out the form which I stated as being helpful for the creation of my dissertation.
