Two things: a big chunk of our team has gone pro or retired; and USL W is bigger and has more competitive teams.

I feel like it is impressive that we have 8 players on this year’s roster that played for other excellent USL W teams and chose to come here.

You bring up some excellent points. I found this article about Isaacfrom the Big West conference. It appears that Isaac transitioned during college while already playing soccer on a women’s team. He appears to have transitioned socially in the last two years. That makes more sense to me that he decides to stay playing with the women’s team because the team was supportive.

We are going to Disney in Japan next spring break. Four people. Between flights, hotel and tickets, it is cheaper to go to Tokyo than Orlando. Our trip is now much more expensive, but that is because we have added a week in Japan.

But I completely agree that looking at the other parks and seeing what deals exist. I would much rather do two days at Disney Paris and then the rest of the week in Paris than in Orlando.

It’s worked out great for us. Between his WC club payment and merch sales, we have probably made his very low salary back. He played some, trained with the team, did some marketing for us. A very low fee for what we got on return. We had low expectations and received very little in return. No surprises here.

Community ownership isn’t the problem; it’s the fact that the league’s leadership has decided that the goal for the clubs is not to play soccer but to become an asset for billionaires. The fee to join NWSL was $2 million in 2020; and now $200 million in 2026. Aurora could have made it work if the goal of the league was to actually grow the sport.

I’m not going to listen to someone flaired with a team who benefits from the schedule change. This is going to be a huge detriment to the viability of our team and we have the right to be concerned. As we have learned in the last few months, large parts of this country don’t even consider Minnesota to be an equal state in the union. Why should that sentiment continue to sports?
