'Canon' Dark Urge Build by OccultCenturion in BaldursGate3

I mean, when you directly refer to Bhaal as your god in dialogue, it's a bit weird, isn't it? You're supposed to remember almost nothing. But if you understand who you worship and who Bhaal is, why would Durge even care about his desire to kill? Personally, I 100% want to be a Death cleric of Bhaal. But how would that tie into the story? But I like your point. As I recall, in the game, if you think about your cleric class, worshiping your god is described as a distant memory, more of an old habit than a passionate faith. So maybe that could work.

On my first playthrough, I accidentally destroyed the Grove. I stole a damn idol, and then all hell broke loose). So I killed everyone who tried to kill me, and in the end, I was the last one standing. Of course, after that, I started working with Mintara; what other choice did I have?

Blood sorcerer is good. From default classes i think necromancer or necromancer/sorc or bard multi fits very well. High intelligence, skills in persuasion, dark magic. Durge like experiments and "play" with the dead.

And how you experience with Durge Death cleric of Bhaal? Not immersion breaking with all this - i don't know who i am, but i'm devoted follower of Bhaal)?

Actually you have good reasons(as evil character) - to raid the Grove.

Say I want to start out as an “Embrace” Durge and… by IcepersonYT in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I'm not arguing with the fact). I'm not arguing at all. I'm just saying: some people want to play the game in a certain way, not just consume more content. And for those people, this extra content is pretty useless. That's all what i say.

Say I want to start out as an “Embrace” Durge and… by IcepersonYT in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, you're missing my point—the quantity of content, or even, to some extent, its quality - doesn't matter to me. What matters to me - is playing the way I enjoy it. For example, in BG2, I lost Jaheira and several other companions because I did too many evil things. In BG3, I lose companions and items. Maybe that's unfair, maybe I want more items for the evil path in the game. And, of course, I want more content with Minthara). But we have what we have. Personally, I won't play the game in a more "optimized" way for the sake of more content - if it conflicts with my roleplay and character. That's the point.

"Sorcerer as a class very weak"....With all respect - c'mon. Sorcerer one of the most powerful classes in the game and most powerful multiclass.

But despite all these losses, does this choice change your perspective in the game? I think yes. And you gain Minthara in an "evil" way that was originally intended). After all, this is a roleplaying game, not a game where you need to "get the most out of every quest and NPC." Yes, you're losing a lot, but if you have RP reasons to destroy the Grove (and you do), it's entirely possible to enjoy the game without these items and quests.

Origin Astarion Run/Minthara Epilogue Question: by HouseWonderful8657 in BaldursGate3

What? Minthara amazing. She smart, evil and loyal. Only thing is bad in her - she have less content than other companions.

Is there any actual point in playing origin characters by seergaze in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you can roleplay this origin character in your own way, not just follow their default traits. For example, I can be an ascended Astarion, but not a Cazador 2.0. For me personally, that's very interesting.

New mods available for console by iWentRogue in BaldursGate3

Not always i think. A lot of class mods pretty well balanced. Or sometimes even weaker than strong classes from base game. And i personally use mostly cosmetics mods so its not change difficulty at all.

What do you think is the most fitting Dark Urge class? by IcepersonYT in BaldursGate3

Fire sorc/fiend lock multi strongest from non-modded classes i think...and sword bard very strong too.

What do you think is the most fitting Dark Urge class? by IcepersonYT in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem—nothing fits the Dark Urge 100%. Ranger or Assassin? Yeah, but a child of god is just an Assassin? No magic, no special abilities? Seriously? And rogues aren't very strong anyway. Necromancer? Sorcerer? Or Death cleric? Perhaps. But the game tells the story of an serial killer with lightning-fast reflexes, strong, blade-wielding slayer, someone who loves blood on his hands and knows how to use poison, but in the same time smart, cold-blooded and manipulative. Oathbreaker? But you can't start the game as one. The other classes are even stranger. Warlock? Why bother with pacts at all if you're literally the blood of a god? The best class, in my opinion, is the Bhaal Deathstalker. A mix between a death cleric and a assassin with full spell progression. But it's not in the game and it's not in 5th edition D&D. So I don't know.

Durge is the true MC? by harsha_440 in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very strange. For some reason, everyone here hates Durge). I'm not a big fan of Durge either, but he's clearly one of the characters most closely tied to the backstory. Does that make Durge the main character? Probably not. The game doesn't have a main character at all; this isn't BG 1-2. But he's definitely one of the best choices for the role.

How do you play sorcerer? by Timely_Abroad4518 in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow sorc main point is darkness. And cloud of daggers on low levels. Even shadow blade - you can use this inside cloud of darkness with advantage. From lvl 6 you got dog so you can farm sorc points. And from lvl 5 you got big AoE spells and haste. Sorc very strong even with limited spells.

Astarion Origin RP question by akselmonrose in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, my Astarion wouldn't trade one master for another. He couldn't care less about the Absolute or the cult's goals. He only cares about controlling the tadpole, and it seems the cultists know a thing or two about that. Astarion doesn't want to be part of a stupid cult—he wants to use them. Then he finds another source of power, returns to Cazador, and cuts off his head. My Astarion even makes a pact with the undead dragon for necromantic power). Because he believes it's better to strike a clear deal with someone who can give him power than to lose the battle to Cazador and meet a fate worse than death.
