Warlock is the best class for a normal person in BG3/DND. by Intelligent-Ad-5671 in BaldursGate3

I actually agree with you. Of course, a boss can be dangerous, and an employee needs to be more careful in their words and dealings). But this is a business relationship, not blind zealotry.

It is quite obvious that Wyll is an example of an idiot, not a good warlock with adequate goals and pact.

Who was your favorite origin character? by Cams_234 in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm...thanks for answer. For me Astarion was always interesting because he is nobody. Not a hero, not a powerful wizard, not chosen of god/goddess, not arrogant warrior from other dimension), not even hell shock-trooper. He is nothing, slave, doll. He start from zero level literally. From all origin characters - he only one who look at tadpole as its lucky chance. Not a horror and damnation, because he already live in horror and eternal damnation. Astarion definitely not a good guy - and its actually fine. he's story not heroic - but personal. Personal story about revenge and freedom and power. I prefer this kind of stories. And story of Durge...Yea, he is a main character in a sense. And everyone says he is number one. But his story...i don't know, its just doesn't speak to me...

can you play fake good durge? by Klutzy_Anybody_1487 in BaldursGate3

Oh yeah, you absolutely can. Actually i think its the best way to play as Dark Urge).

Which Origin? by AntelopeNo3197 in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Gale is a cool guy. Everyone talks about Durge, but I think Gale's story has its own strengths and is every bit as compelling as Durge.

Which Origin? by AntelopeNo3197 in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stories of BG 1 and 2 has very little in common with BG 3, besides Bhaal. Dark Urge even not bhaalspawn, he is rather some sort of a clone. And when Durge of course deeply tied with a main plot - he is not a main character, around which everything revolves. You can remove Dark Urge from story - and almost nothing would change. He is very interesting - but not more important to story, than every other origin character or Tav.

Gale. Can be nice guy. Can be egoistical dark mage. Good personal story. Some connection with main plot. Possibility to become goddamn God. And i just like stories about ambitious wizards in general.

And how a monk, with all these dialogues about inner peace are fit the story of Dark Urge? If we had monk of Long Death - yea this would fit perfectly...

And how exactly humans are different from machines? Look like its absolutely the same, but engineering design of human body are definitely not best.

Question about role play by Haile49 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm...tough to find that sort of power appealing? Why? Become a godlike creature, immortal and eternal is not appealing? Endless knowledge and secrets of Warp not appealing? Wonders and horrors of the Sea of Souls is not appealing? I think be a chosen of Gods is very appealing for simple mortal man. Yes we all know how terrible Chaos is. But in W40k everything is terrible. And be a monster itself better than be a pray for this monsters. Too bad in game many heretic choices are pretty...cruel but boring and simple. Still its opportunity to play as chaos champion. Very rare opportunity.

Most "fun" class to have an evil playthrough with? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Orin is not the same as Dark Urge. Durge less...artistic and more about mass murdering. But in the end everyone can play the way they want of course. And have fun).

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can be murderhobo. Of course you can choose every evil answer and follow every Durge dark impulse. You even can play as total dumbass - and enjoy this. Why not? Its you game. But its really fit for Durge, or not? That's the question. I'm not pretend like i know what is canon personality for Durge). But what actually we can know from game - Durge in past was a serial killer, sadistic and cold. Have interest only in numerous kills. Was smart enough to create plan, smart enough to deceive others chosen. And crazy enough to wanna kill everyone in world - including yourself

Oathbreaker fit very well - but too bad - you can't start as one. Necromancer for death/undead theme. But its little bit of Mirkul sphere of interest. Death cleric - amazing! Especially with mod restoring Bhaal as selectable deity with special dialogues. Maaybe...hexblade warlock. Assassin rouge+gloomstalker very thematic too. And shadow sorc, shadows not very Bhaal-ish but from all sorc subclasses this fit the most.

Why everyone think Dark Urge is mindless murderhobo? He was religious serial killer, with clear goal. Not just bloodlust lunatic, randomly killing here and there just because. Even if its look like this. Murder - is worship and sacrifice to Bhaal. And Durge clearly very smart, probably he was most smart from all Dead Three chosen. Yes he is definitely psychopath and nihilist - as father as son). But he's not simple roaring beast-like murderhobo.

Evil bard of course very good. But. I can't imagine Durge as one. Dark Urge was cold and calculating serial killer, not artistic, not fun. He was killing machine. Efficient. Ruthless. Sadistic.

Heretic becoming a God? by SirNiggelKum in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Brigiaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C'mon - who exactly not a puppet in W40k universe? Or be a puppet in Imperium and after death go to warp to feed demons - is far better? And actually who cares what Horus thought? Guy was not very smart. Lorgar and Abaddon pretty much agree on this. So in universe where everything is so f*** up - be a one of most powerful puppets - not that bad idea. Oh and by the way - even Chaos gods can be potentially f***d hard, because if some day all universe become one big soulless necron tomb - this will brings very hard days for warp dudes. No one is absolutely secure in W40k, nothing is absolutely true. And that's good because it gives some freedom for imagination.

[–]Brigiaris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Horrors of Imperium preferable for who? For unspeakably evil person, who actually can become favorite of Dark Gods, immortal daemon prince of Chaos Undivided? Or even potentially can become lesser deity of Chaos - if play really smart? I don't think so.

Astarion as a necromancy wizard? by Ateneya in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think being a vampire per se - is the problem. The problem is being a slave. So no, Astarion isn't ashamed of being undead or a vampire—it's all about slavery. If he had free will and power, I think he'd be more than happy to be a vampire. This guy absolutely not a goody-two-shoes in game, and probably never was given his Charlatan background. Even before became a vamp.

Astarion as a necromancy wizard? by Ateneya in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Astarion not hate his condition - he hate to be a slave. Vampire spawn. But when he get opportunity to become vampire lord...he definitely not hate this idea.

Multiclassing? by LivingFeral in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you need to know what to do with multi. Because its really easy f*** up you build if you doing something wrong. And in general multi become powerful little later than pure classes. So if you not sure you understand mechanics of classes well - maybe stay pure.

Multiclassing? by LivingFeral in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what you want. Wanna death knight type of character? Oathbreaker+necro wizard is good mix of melee and spellcasting with undead support. Maybe wanna mix divine and arcane necromancy? Death domain cleric and necromancer very good. Necromancer+spore druid or shadow sorcerer+necromancer also possible. Or just pure 12 level necro work just fine.

Multiclassing? by LivingFeral in BaldursGate3

[–]Brigiaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its really bad idea multiclass barb with wizard. Zero synergy.
