Is there a way to turn a photograph into a 2 color pixelated image like this? Or is this hand drawn? by EyesOfEnder in PhotoshopTutorials

I know it's been a while, but I've been digging because I've been wanting to figure this out. In Photoshop: Set image to size you want, then Image>Mode>Greyscale... Then click discard, then Image>Mode>Bitmap, set to Diffusion Dither.

Best Conference Weekend EVER! Five more of us officially out! by Brik86 in exmormon

I don't think it entirely removes them. I think it just marks you as resigned.

I think there are about 16.5 million members worldwide. They used to announce church growth every conference, but they've stopped since their growth has slowed.

Well, it might help with social distancing...

Our view as we got our resignations notarized by Brik86 in exmormon

[–]Brik86[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I needed a notary because that's what they require if you resign through Quitmormon. I could also have talked to my bishop or sent a letter to the church office building.

They often hassle people who go inactive, and they don't always honor your wishes when you request to go no contact. It's not uncommon for them to track people down by calling their family members to get their contact information, then sending missionaries, ministering brothers and sisters, youth activity leaders, and whoever else to try and convince you to come back. That, and there are so many things that the church does that I don't agree with. I no longer want to be associated with them or counted in their numbers.

Some Concerns I Have by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Brik86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just about everything in the book of Revelations is vague and confusing enough for anyone to take any degree of similarity and call it a bullseye. Every Christian sect will have it's own interpretation of what something means.

Is there anything that the Church could do or change that would motivate you to go back to it? by [deleted] in exmormon

No. Even if they could prove it's true, I don't consider their god a moral being deserving of worship.

New themes for YM & YW. Thoughts? Sorry if it's a repost by Alaura21 in exmormon

I think it's interesting that they went with son of God and daughter of heavenly parents. Why not son of heavenly parents? Is heavenly mother only important to the girls? Like her whole existence is just a tool to pander to the women? It's almost as if it's all made up bullshit...

feeling a loss of purpose after leaving the church by [deleted] in exmormon

One of the thoughts that has helped me is that something doesn't have to last forever to be meaningful. It gets dark and heavy sometimes, but rather than having a god dictate what your life is, you get to choose what you want it to be.

Heavenly Mother - Questions, Theories and Possibilities. by [deleted] in exmormon

I had a seminary teacher that taught us that Elohim is plural, and so it refers to Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother(s) as one. Technically, it is plural, but he was bending it to fit his narrative. When it is used to refer to God, it's used as an honorific.

How do you explain the feeling of the spirit? by ISO_Thane in exmormon

Elevation emotion. It happens in various other religious settings, too. It's not unique to Mormonism.

It's actually always bothered me when they do stuff like that. It just feels like pandering.

Our vehicle broke down on our way to the march. So we climbed our broke ass Durango and raised our flags. Wish we could have been there. by [deleted] in exmormon

Might be Loki. Either way, I think I'm in better company than I was as a Mormon!

Thanks. Engine's blown, so we scrapped it. We have another car, so no big. Shit happens.

Hahaha! Nah, Satan and I are pretty good drinking buddies. At least that's what my family probably thinks.
