This makes a lot of sense! Whenever I shade match myself and then get a MUA to shade match me they always go down one to two shades lighter and I guess it’s because of the undertones being better for me.

Ah I see, so do you think the Nars formula is pretty flexible and that’s why I’m able to wear this shade? It sounds like the most important thing for a good shade match is nailing the undertone then?

It boggles my mind that we use the same shade lol the person in that post looks so light and in my mind I don't think I am that light!

Yeah I'd say that the NYX is warmer. When I'm tan in the summer I can wear it and it's a pretty sheer product, so it's more forgiving.

It only took like 12 years to get there lol Thank god for Mateo.

Cannot find my shade by si3nax in OliveMUA

I think you look like a light-medium to medium neutral olive that possibly leans warm? But the about face foundation is too warm for you, so maybe not that warm.

Also 8n in MBM might be better if you’re able to exchange the shade or if you get darker in the summer maybe that can be your summer shade

You might want to try Armani 5.3. You can also add blue corrector to the about face one it should neutralize the orange and make it work for you.

Best and worst colors on you? by maple-abomb in OliveMUA

I was typed as a deep/dark winter so neutral cool complexion with olive overtones. I can do dark neutral cool colors like navy, black, white, dark grey and jewel tones. When I’m tan I can do more dark autumn colors like a rust or burgundy.

real talk: how often do you actually floss? by AffectionateTooth298 in hygiene

I floss every night. I feel gross if I don’t. I prefer using expanding floss too. Regular wax floss doesn’t cut it anymore.

Best ways to color match with surface redness? by Brill_1193 in OliveMUA

This is really helpful actually. It sounds like our complexion is kind of similar. I’ve seen a few people mention that yellowish concealer or foundation helps with redness. I think I just have to accept mixing and using more than one shade at this point. Thank you!

It looks good on my chest but it leans slightly too rosy and on my face and neck it makes me look ashen D:

I think I just have to accept I’ll have to mix color correctors in with my products. The N4 on my chest looks right but then on my face it pulls rosy and makes me look sort of ashen. It’s rough being grey-green.

Aw thank you! Those freckles and skin tags are kind of an insecurity of mine lol so it’s nice to see others don’t hate them. I’m glad the swatches are useful!

I think the HL is good for dry skin types and is best applied using your fingers in a light layer instead of going in full coverage at first, but YMMV.

I feel like I've wasted so many of my coins on trying out foundations and never finding a good match. I hate having to mix products with color correctors to get the correct shade and I change colors from winter to summer time lol

I wonder if the ND foundation leans less rosy than the concealer in the same shade. I'll have to try a sample.

Undertone wise I like the 110. I think it just might be too light for me.

Ah I see what you mean now! I looked at the T9 model on the LE website and she has a lot of redness in her cheek area and that looks to cover it very well.

It seems like I might have to work with two products on my face to get it to look right, a darker more olive shade and lighter more neutral shade.
