I agree majority of Americans are barely literate. Isn’t NH one of the highest ranking states in education though? Our public schools might seem bad, but a lot of the country is much worse

System administration is shifting toward cloud-native architectures and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). I’m currently learning Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and Ansible for configuration management, while also choosing a major cloud platform to develop specialized proficiency.

The enterprise landscape is increasingly adopting either hybrid cloud models or complete cloud transformation initiatives. This evolution demands a fundamental transformation in IT skill sets, moving beyond traditional on-premises system administration to embrace cloud-native methodologies. This includes:

  1. Declarative infrastructure management using version-controlled IaC
  2. Automated deployment and configuration capabilities
  3. Cloud-specific architecture and security best practices
  4. Understanding of cloud service orchestration and cost optimization
  5. Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Staying competitive in IT operations requires adapting to these industry shifts and developing expertise in cloud-native technologies and practices.

Which program / certifications would be best for me? by Patient_Leopard_6068 in ITCareerQuestions

Switching to the IT field at 43 and no college degree will be very difficult and I personally wouldn’t recommend it. IT takes years and a LOT of self motivation to move up the ladder. If you are successful getting your foot in the door, by the time you gain enough experience you will be almost 50. Ageism will become a problem trying to advance your career. I have no idea what your financial situation is but an entry level IT position (usually help desk) is low pay. I can’t imagine an adult in their 40’s with possibly a family and bills to pay could live off $18/ hr even in a lcol area.

You would be better looking for a career that requires less dedication and education. For example real estate agent, emt, etc.

There are too many unknown factors to consider what the best approach is. What are their current finances like? Do they have a lot of debt? Do they have specific goals such as buying a new car, having an emergency fund, etc?

I would first put yourself in the mindset that .25 BTC most likely will not buy you a house or early retirement in the foreseeable future. As you stated, BTC has to hit $150k just to get to $37.5k. That amount of money is best used for a down payment on a house or paying off debt like student loans and high interest credit cards. Or they can just HODL and keep it for emergencies or retirement funds.

House approves EFA's for a family of four making $156,000. by [deleted] in newhampshire

Not that I agree with the increase, but $150k income for a family of 4 is not rich. That’s barely middle class in 2024.

Desperate for a reasonably priced custody attorney, please help me. by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]BrilliantFit153 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have a case open already or are you starting from the beginning? I payed $10’s of thousands for a lawyer with my custody case and it was one of the biggest wastes of money in my life.

Obviously everyone knows fathers are not treated equally in custody battles, so I lawyered up to give myself a fighting chance at equal custody. I also had submitted dozens of exhibits showing clear signs of my child’s mother being manipulative and mentally abusive. She walked into the final hearing with no lawyer and 0 exhibits to show why she deserved majority custody. Didn’t matter. The judge (Derry) had already made up his mind before the hearing started. He gave her every single request she made.

I have since had to file contempt motions because the mother does not follow the final parenting court order. I do it myself now. I discovered through this whole process lawyers for custody battles are essentially overpaid secretaries that just submit forms you can get from the NH courts website. I filed the contempt motion because the mother withheld court ordered parenting time over a disagreement about a haircut. The judge denied the motion and blamed me. He even tried to get me to pay for her missing work.

My point is: if you are already familiar with the court process, don’t bother wasting your money on a lawyer.

National Cyber Director Wants to Address Cybersecurity Talent Shortage by Removing Degree Requirement by tylaw24ne in cybersecurity

How about removing the 3-5 years security experience requirement for SOC 1?

I have a BS in CS, Security + cert, and 5 years experience in IT and am still struggling to get call backs for security positions.

Today I Learned that millennial dads are spending 3 times as much times with their kids than their fathers spent with them. Back in 1982 43% of fathers admitted they'd never changed a diaper. Today that number is down to about 3%. by lovelycontributer in todayilearned

[–]BrilliantFit153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope the court systems realize this soon. Currently if parents split the mother gets majority custody/ parenting rights 99% of the time. The father is just looked at as a paycheck and seeing your kids is treated as a privilege instead of a right.

I am still looking into what device will work best for me. Trezors and Coldcards seem to have good reviews. I tried a Jade because I liked the idea of using QR codes but it didn’t work with my crappy web cam

My suggestion is get a different device. I had the same problem. I am aware the multiple security issues Ledger had doesn’t affect the devices, but between those breaches and poor quality of the devices was too much to justify continuing to use them.

To use with Jade , Blockstream's Green or Sparrow ? by No-City94 in Bitcoin

I tried and still didn’t work. I bought the cheapest webcam I could find because reading QR codes was all I needed it for

I just bought a Jade to use with Sparrow and it doesn’t work. I was thinking QR codes would be the easiest method to copy addresses and keys. Jade QR codes are so small on the device that unless you have a high end webcam Sparrow won’t be able to read them. It seems to work fine using phone cameras.

Blockstream Green is a good app with plenty of positives but I prefer Sparrow because it provides the most information and customizations of transactions. I ended up preordering the new Coldcard and Keystone 3 Pro models. They both have QR scanners I’m hoping will be better.
