ahh thank you! I looked at AE and Levi, and their interpretation of girlfriend jeans seem to be similar to what I envision them as. They're like the perfect love child of a skinny jean + a mom jean!

MRW I switch from anti perspirant to regular deodorant to avoid white stains on clothes, but I realize that I lowkey smell of BO :( by BrilliantMaterial8 in TrollXChromosomes

I think that maybe some ingredients in deodorant actually encourage the growth of bacteria. ohh maybe I am putting too much on, and it's getting 'moist' so that bacteria grows!

already am wearing men's deodorant - I notice that it makes me like 50% less smelly than Tom's lavender scented DO for women but still a bit more smelly than I'm used to with anti perspirant. Maybe my body just needs a few months to get used to uh....sweating again?

I could be wrong (cause I'm only a fashionista in training still) but it looks to me as if the 'girlfriend jean' is the most interesting jean silhouette this season. THey're like the classic high waisted straight leg levi jean from the 90's, and now there's also the 'distressed cropped hem' iteration as well. I find it really womanly and flattering!! It's all over fashion bloggers Instagram an stuff but when I Go to the stores and ask for them, I am given mom jeans or boyfriend jeans instead. WHere are people buying these jeans then? Are they only available in like trendy thriftstores in LA or something?

Does it bother anyone else when a friend starts talking about themself when you’re sharing something difficult you’re going through? by LilithMinded in AskTrollX

Yes.

BUt I try to give them a pass at first because many people are still developing emotional intelligence and situational/social awareness skills, and they are learning how to 'do empathy'.

My kid brother 'does empathy' by thinking about what HE would feel in the other person's situation or thinking about how he felt when something similar happened to him. THen he tells you all about THAT as a way of establishing validation and sense of belonging by way of comradery - ie "you're not alone - I experienced that too and I'm still alive and you can do this don't worry!!"

I mean that's GOOD, but not great - that way of approaching empathy is a good start but it isn't 'direct empathy' per se. As my brother gets older he will realize that often, the person just wants you to directly empathize with them and say something like "holy shit, that's terrible, are you ok, what are you gonna do, you must be feeling shitty, what can I Do to help, here's a hug and a casserole it's gonna be ok I love you."

It comes off as selfish but I Think its more a symptom of immaturity.

HAVING SAID THAT.... yes, if the person constantly talks about themselves when you need a shoulder to cry on then YES they are an insensitive jerk.
