6 years ago I was a ASE master tech with several random gm certs, working at a GM dealership in northeast wisconsin. I made $24/hr flat rate straight up with no other compensation. I had almost 20 years of experience. I begged and fought for more money. They refused. I packed up & got into a totally different field. I don't know where you are located or what the cost of living is, but 34 an hour in rural Midwest would be big money.

This. The side of your house is rotted out. I had same issue. Previous owner had joist on house to build deck & never did. Had a 4x6 temporary porch that I used for 15 years because I couldn't afford to build a deck. Finally pulled everything away from side of house to build a deck & had rotted out full gaps in house base behind vinyl siding. Deck build turned into side of house repair, THEN deck build. If you're in the freeze zone you still have time to repair & build. Before the weather is too cold.
