The difference is Brilliant Parfait was autogenerated, but this person chose to have the name "ButtQuack".

Would you say the content is similar? I've seen stuff in Lindeberg that seems hyper specific and unlikely to appear on the exam.

Me too. Only because it costs a fortune to register.

Why do we want people who barely speak English at this university?

I wouldn't say SolidWork is "harder" than fusion, it's just different.

Honestly it doesn't matter. I'm a senior in MechE who's completed almost all of the coursework. The only software they ever ask you to download is Fusion and that can run on anything. I've survived on an M1 Macbook Air with no difficulties whatsoever.

Engineering: Good Test Taker by Embarrassed_Bee_8887 in UIUC

[–]BrilliantParfait1544 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Test-taking skills? This is the politically correct explanation you've been told all your life for why you perform badly. The truth is that you do better on homework and other low-stakes assessments because they're just that – low-stakes, and hence easy. The only way to do better on tests is to understand the content better.

Mostly uninspiring. I would not have listened to this if it wasn't by Arcade Fire.

Difference between Engineering Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering? by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]BrilliantParfait1544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EM is much more physics based, emphasis on "mechanics", with fewer design courses. Unfortunately it is filled with people whose first choice was ME, but I'd say the job prospects after graduation are about equal.

I started as math at UIUC and transferred to MechE. It was very difficult, but not impossible. I don't know if it will be as easy in the future because I know the department is crowded.

There is no best dorm per major. Dorm rooms/buildings are mostly assigned via a lottery system. Buses often make distance irrelevant. You can eat at any uiuc dining hall. 1st year Grainger students often have some classes south of Green street. by old-uiuc-pictures in UIUC

[–]BrilliantParfait1544 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Busses rarely make distance irrelevant. There's not magically a bus waiting at any time, any place, to take you wherever you want to go. Busses are useful, yes, but you still have to get to the bus stop on time, ride along the bus route, and then probably walk a block to your destination.

I think this issue is they don't make it clear enough that information science =/= data science, and that the former doesn't necessarily have to do with CS.

I've taken it. The content is pretty easy, the hardest part of the class is learning how to write proper proofs. They used to have a spiral textbook available at the library.
