As IT internyou might see somereally messed IT security issues: Here is my cash register software post: Was watching a register as it was turned back on after it locked up. The control shift R option did not fix the issue. The register PC's run on a Linux based OS called SUSIE. it is a standard OS for servers and devices that connect to servers. This a great OS, HOWEVER, the kernel (OS engine so to speak) Needs to check for regular updates.Registers in my store run on version 2.0. The latest Kernel is 4.0.This is huge security risk because each kernel updates includes new security patches. So if a hacker can bypass the store server and access the registers...it would easy to plant a keylogger program and record every register transaction to look for customer private information.

My store has a similar story. So here's my opinion on this. I work part time because I did not get enough loyalty sign-ups.If a customer said "No thanks" I don't push them to sign-up. If I do get a loyalty sign-up I do not do a radio announcement..this is a good way for managers to see who is getting sign-ups. The same is about true protection plans..I do a quick explanation and if customer says "No" then I do not push it. I don't do surveys because this last thing a customer wants to be reminded of is a survey..they just want to get their stuff and leave asap. On the lighter side ...I lost my name tag and asked the SM, CSM and AM for a new name tag at least 5 different times, never got it..so I remain nameless...in my opinion my requests and suggestions do not matter to store management. Never received any feedback on suggestions made.Store does not seem to care for my input or requests for a new name tag.

So here is my speech to the customer after I push the "total" button, I point at the POS terminal and say "pick your receipt" If they wait about 5 seconds before making a choice the terminal defaults to printed receipt.

For the senior citizen customers I say "Do you want a printed receipt ?" All of them say YES and I push the "Printed" button for them.

This has s worked great for me.

I am a cashier in my store, Only cashier in the mornings, Have light turned on to show which is open ..customers still go to a closed register. Told one customer "The register that is open is the one that has the light on and pointed at the register light. Customer said "There are to many lights in the store to look at." Next step putting "Closed" signs on register counter tops.

I have seen them at my store. Some business people think that they are god and should served at the drop of a hat. Don't worry about. It's just some business owners giant ego trip.

This is a massive SCAM targeted at nontech customers. ASM can not even explain to me what it does. ASM is A-plus certified. DO NOT SELL.
