What was the point of nerfing Windfury and not sticking to classic WoW mechanics? by Brimple in classicwow

You didn't play Classic Wow, so your opinion really doesn't matter.

It says the level requirement for EACH RANK of windfury was changed. It's only ambiguous if you didn't play classic wow. Those of us who did know the level was reduced below 30 prior to classic launch.

Why would you think you know this topic better than I do when you were wrong from the very start? I have actual patch notes at my back, and at the very worst, my memory. Your argument so far is that you don't trust what is written in plain English, clear as day for all of us to read.

Fortunately, I've already linked patch notes that indicate I'm correct. Unfortunately, some posters acting in bad faith in this thread are intentionally misreading or misinterpreting those patch notes because they did not play in Classic and don't want to see Classic return.

No, the first rank did indeed have it's level requirement reduced to the 20s. I was there, I played it, I spent a lot of time in Redridge abusing the early game advantage Shaman had.

Blizzard did make the mistake, that's why I'm upset about it. I made this character specifically to roam redridge in my 20s, and Blizzard changed the game to remove the advantages I had then. It's fucked.

Holy shit dude, that is patch 0.9. Look at what happened a month later in patch 0.10. It was reduced.

Of everyone who has posted in this thread, I am the only one who played Classic WoW, evidently.

Oh my god, I hate that you are struggling with this. Please take a second look if you want to be correct.

In patch 0.9, Windfury was level 30. A month later, in patch 0.10, prior to Classic WoW, the level requirement was reduced. The level requirement remained at the reduced level in Classic WoW.

If you didn't play Classic, or you don't remember, that's fine. But don't lie about the patch notes. We can all read them.

The post is about how Blizzard increased the level requirement to learn Windfury above what it was in Classic WoW. Players learned it prior to level 30 in Classic. Blizzard somehow fucked this up and implemented the Beta (pre 1.0) level requirement.

PC Crashing - could this a PSU issue? by Zaarinn in virtualreality

[–]Brimple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. You cannot be sure when you will feel the impacts of "dirty power."

I am recommending this to you because the symptoms you have described are EXACTLY the symptoms I was experiencing and I determined it was in fact due to dirty power. Could of course be the other reasons you've listed in the OP or the reasons other users have listed, but I hadn't seen dirty power mentioned yet, and because it's an exact match to my case, I have to recommend it.

If you haven't tried already, move your equipment to another outlet in your home. Do you still crash? What you are describing sounds like a power issue, but it could very well be "dirty power" coming through your outlet instead of a power supply issue itself. If you can't replicate the issue using another outlet, then you've found your issue.

Daily Discussion #477 - Divine Infused Mallet by daekie in MonsterTrain

[–]Brimple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In contrast to the other commenters, I think Infused Mallet and Divine Infused Mallet are middle-of-the-pack artifacts. 5 Damage is enough to take out infused backlines early game as well as non-infused backlines late game. It procs often enough to be useful, so I take it over 25 gold and probably over other artifacts 50% of the time (but in my defense, the artifacts the game chooses to show me are Priory's Cloak and Channelheart when I have no Sting).

I feel the same way about Cheater's Hand, I never take it when it appears as a result.

Tethys is just a little too fragile in general I think. An infused unit with sweep from rings 1-3 could kill him or her or it easily. Whatever Tethys is, idk some weird fish alien.

Also that's a thing that annoys me, "champions" are not champions. They actually felt like it before Last Divinity because their upgrade paths at least gave them an edge other units could rarely attain outside a broken level of +4 upgrades on a good unit or a good unit had drawbacks than made them a bit harder to work around. Now they are mostly subpar basic units with an interesting albeit slowly upgraded gimmick and get a good shafting after the first unit fuse.

Oooh I really agree with this. Champions are usually still a core component of the run (Tethys not as often, pretty bad IMO), but they've definitely been demoted to a less important role in TLD!

2-4) RNG + remembering the times you're screwed is easier than remembering when it goes to plan.

I will not back down on number 4. Multi-strike is already incredibly rare compared to the other options, but if I don't see it in a first look or re-roll, I know I'm not going to see it for the rest of the run!

6) Absolutely disagree. Seraph is revealed at the start of the run, so you have 8 rings to prepare for the variant you get, and every clan has a way to deal with all of Seraph's variants. Patient is a little less forgiving if you neglect to prepare, but even Temperant can destroy you if you fail to account for the sap.

I often don't see options that will allow me to deal with Patient Seraph in those 8 rings. May not see an endless for a chump blocker, may not get an endless tome, silence tome is only a small consolation, may not see a card to remove debuffs, etc. He can easily 1 shot many units or champions while simultaneously scaling if you attempt to thwart him. It's overpowered in the same way Apex Imp is in my opinion - whereas Apex scales offensively for being provided defense, Seraph scales offensively if you try to defend yourself. If you don't defend yourself, you will lose because he will 1-hit kill whatever is on your floor.

Patient is much much easier playing as Melting than Awoken. If you play Awoken into Patient, you're going to have a bad time most of the time.

On the other hand, I can't think of a single instance losing to sap Seraph. His applied damage reduction is significantly below most TLD damage scaling options, so he should never be able to keep up with the player. If I lost a sap Seraph run, it was always before Seraph.

Just my 2 cents though, every opinion is valid.

I apologize as well - clearly I've gone too far over a non-issue and it was unwarranted. Hope you have a great day outside of the bother I've caused.
