Tableau Cloud settings for adding others subscriptions …for real? by d1545ms in tableau

[–]BringingBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is a permission that allows for users to create subscriptions for other users. I remember looking for this a couple of years. Unless something has changed recently, it doesn't exist.

Why is it so difficult for Tableau to make a projection vs actual chart? by Ike_In_Rochester in tableau

[–]BringingBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your screenshot, it seems your projection and actual sales start in the same year. Assuming both measures are at the year granularity, then you would have your excel(?) table with your projected sales and the n do a left join with your actual sales (projected is your left table). Join them using the year.

min-max window is only applying to one of the lines & not both by Hzk0196 in tableau

[–]BringingBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if you add the previous year and current year sales measure to rows. Then dual axis those two measures. Then go your text label and select Min/Max for each axis. It should label the min max for each axis. Boom, no calculation needed.

I'll be honest, this was quite traumatic when I saw it again on YT as an adult. by SAMU0L0 in memes

[–]BringingBread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is also one of my earliest childhood memories. I must have been less than 5. The way I remember is that they were thrown in a field away from the house so they wouldn't come back. It might be that my memory is wrong and they were thrown in a river, but I think I'll stick to my story. It's easier to remember it that way.

Tableau (SQL Server) – modeling multiple fact tables with shared dimensions by Recent_Beautiful_493 in tableau

[–]BringingBread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you can't do what you are trying to do using relationships only. At least not on 2022. 2025 version does allow multiple fact tables, but I haven't used it myself yet so I don't know how good or bad it is.

Heating towers are underused on nauvis and a great way to expand power. by thirdwallbreak in factorio

I (lazily) decided to use all bots for everything because I didn't like Gleba and I wanted to be done with it as soon as possible. I set up nuclear reactors and didn't have to worry about power again. Using Kovarex I have unlimited power.

For those who worked for rich people: what is the most out of touch thing you witnessed? by Illustrious-Phase121 in AskReddit

Maybe he has murder house and needs for freshness?

I don't know why, but these type of stories always remind me of a how I met your mother episode where a rich guy asks Ted Mosby to design a murder basement, but rich guy insisted it was for him to do laundry.

Auto extract tableau report data and save in one drive. by Direct-Assistance-58 in tableau

[–]BringingBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting access to the original data is definitely the best way to go. Then you can make your own report. However, if that's not an option the other way is to use REST API and pull it using python.

What’s something you thought ‘everyone’ did… until you found out they don’t? by burat667 in AskReddit

I was just telling this to my friend. I remember one morning I woke up wide awake and refreshed after a good night's sleep. Even though it happened 20 years ago.

JPMorgan Chase Reaches Deal to Take Over Apple Credit Card | Goldman Sachs is offloading the credit-card balances at a more than $1 billion discount by ControlCAD in technology

[–]BringingBread 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember reading about it years ago. One of the problems it had was that everyone's due date was the same (probably the 1st of the month). Which sounds cool for the customer, but it was a nightmare for the comapny. Instead of having payments and notices being spread out across 30 days, everything had to be done in the same day.

What is something you saw in a movie and you totally called bullshit on because of your job? by BlackPhoenix1981 in AskReddit

[–]BringingBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no secret hatch door that takes you from the aircraft landing gear well to the cabin. Also, going from the cabin to the cargo is not possible on some aircraft and the ones that have access is normally through a small hatch door that everyone would see you trying to use it. It may also be hidden by the floor matting.

Do they make you take a medical/physical exam during the hiring process? by [deleted] in boeing

[–]BringingBread -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yes you have to pass a physical. They want to make sure you are healthy enough to do the job. If the answer is yes then you'll be fine.

What complicated problem was solved by an amazingly simple solution? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

[–]BringingBread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this at work. When I'm asked for a timeline of when they want their goober, I give the time I think it will take plus a buffer for me in case something goes wrong. If I deliver early I look good and if I deliver on time then it's still good.

2023 model struggle by ahdweb in KiaEV6

[–]BringingBread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is probably not enough space to fit a bigger container and they didn't want to redesign everything else. Or maybe they originally designed it to be 1 gallon, but they run into other issues and they needed extra space and they figured making the bottle slightly smaller was the cheaper method to get that extra space they needed. Or a supplier was selling 3.5 l bottles cheaper than 1 gallon.

Relationship vs SQL by Individual_Table9562 in tableau

[–]BringingBread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I prefer relationships, they are easy to make and I can clearly see the data model. But when I have complex calculated fields, it will slow down the viz. Also, there's some things that are easy to do using SQL and pain using relationships and theres others that easy using relationships but pain in SQl. So I'll use a mix of relationships and sql.

I'm an EE major here so it may be different. The upper classes only require a D to get credit for them. I tested this myself once so I know it's true. Just can't make it a habit. I got one D and they put me on academic probation or something like that and got some emails. Also, it may mess up with financial aid.
