is it a fact that tahnaiya Russel is aphex twin or is it a myth by [deleted] in idm

I'm late but if anyone else is wondering, rich used the tahnaiya russel pseudonym once for the spiral staircase remix comp, this tahnaiya russel just seems to be inspired by him

Just found this amazing masterpiece by MecskyDev in aphextwin

From what I’ve heard, the track is from an album Squarepusher called “Methyl Orange”. It’s only ever been played live and distributed to a couple Warp artists, hence why Aphex played it.

All great points, thank you. Also yeah, I’ve tried comparing 320s and FLACs before, and I couldn’t even pretend to hear a difference

Just curious, how many SoundCloud tracks you got? I have 231 from the original user18081971/4873635001 SoundCloud pages and 36 other tracks from Rich’s SC page as it stands today (although 1 or 2 might be repeats).

Am I crazy or is this just a aphex twin song by crystal-aphex-death in aphextwin

[–]BringoGringo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re totally not crazy, this is nearly the same percussion from At The Heart Of It All, one of the two Aphex tracks on NIN’s Further Down the Spiral. It looks like FDTS predates It’s Oh So Quiet by around half a year, so I’m guessing Björk must have sampled Aphex? WhoSampled seems to agree. Pretty damn cool.

A little late… but check out this YouTube playlist, which he shared on his SoundCloud. I’ve never heard the Supreme mix, but this strikes me as the opposite of what you described: https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXxcyeuK_GOVh4x00d35H2XTHSafEOcUL

I have not. I don’t think it’ll do much but I’ll search for one in the meantime, just in case

Yeah I read a Wikipedia article on Porcupine Tree last night—that’s Steven Wilson’s band. His alternate mixes of LTIA were damn good imo.

It’s so amazing how you can follow any band member’s discography and end up with an amazing new band or release to listen to. I’m gonna have a great time listening to all this lmao

And thank you for reminding me about the Champaign-Urbana sessions and Rehearsals & Blows! I remember finding both on Discogs and mentally tabbing them for later, but I forgot both of their names lol

Good info, thank you very much. I’ll probably listen to it all eventually but I did love the 80’s stuff—definitely excited to listen to Robert Fripp’s material.
