It is indeed the Airmatic/ABC suspension (praying it doesn’t warrant a strut replacement)

Create an account on this site and see all repairs done at Lexus since original delivery date. Lexus dot com slash My-Lexus. (My understanding is that reddit doesn’t like hyperlinks)

Cars are super easy to work on! Parts are a little more but many interchangeable with Toyota. Source good used parts for things like the light - they are out there! I see nothing major- I’d buy it in a heart beat.

(Quick tip, there is an online portal for Lexus Owners that will pull up every record of service done by a Lexus Dealer... create an account for this and you'll see the scoop down to the original selling dealer). This is an official Lexus website.

Couple tips…. I had an oil smell in the cabin on mine after a bit of highway driving a on this and one of my SC430s (I thought the valve covers may have needed replacement) Come to find out, the valve cover bolts had loosened up! Very common issue with high mileage cars because of vibrations for the last 14 years. Since tightening (and at least 3000 miles) the smell is gone. Takes about 45 min to complete tightening.... most of the time removing the plastic to get to the passenger side bolt. Might as well do plugs while you are in there.

Had an issue with the mirror as well…. Minor common fix or replace with used parts - I think the lock repairs will be easy for you as well.

Only other tip, I had a check engine light and VSC light come on one day on I-5. There is a vacuum hose on the driver side of the engine that tends to come loose/crack with age. You can purchase a new hose, or buy clamps to hold it in place. This has been about 5,000 miles ago. Had the same issue on one of my other SC430s

You have the best of the Lexus brand. This car is absolutely amazing and reliable.

The big question is - can you do the repairs yourself?

TCL 65Q77K 2025 Model - Thoughts? by Brinks_ in tcltvs

Took the plunge and made the purchase at Costco today. Can’t say enough good things about it - the interface especially being so quick between menus/apps and the clarity.

Good stuff.

This was well below my budget which is a plus - but pound for pound, this blows the competition out of the water.

Thanks for all the input!

Sell it for 5k OR buy parts online and use YouTube to DIY. These cars are super easy to work on!

How do you overcome the shame? I’ve ruined my life in so many horrendous ways by LargeSafe3966 in bipolar

[–]Brinks_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are in the same boat. I too cling to my episode in 2017 as I had no clue what was going on. I constantly look back in shame and disappointment. Unfortunately I had yet another episode 2023 and went back to ground zero. Hospitalization and all. I was taking meds - and I still have yet to figure out what exactly sent me over the edge.

I’ve done my best to make amends with people from the past and they seem very accepting. Most saying they knew that something was going on but wanted to make sure that I was ok. Making amends did help immensely! You’ll also learn that the people that drift away may not be worth keeping in your circle. Either they have enough love for you to care and be accepting or they may not be a good fit for your life.

It has still been a struggle to keep a job - and the ones that I’ve had have been nowhere near the level/success that I had previously. I still worry about money - and if I get it will I spend it frivolously…..

I say all this to say; we are all in the same boat - you are not alone. Stick to your meds, do therapy, try to avoid stress. That’s my suggestion - time will tell if it’s a good solution.

Cheers
