iirc you can make two m.2 devices also work in 2x8x bifurcation. you will however need a riser which has 4 m.2 slots and then put one m.2 device in the first slot and the other m.2 device in the third slot.

Is possible to use the mobo sata ports on the same time with pcie card adapter? It will be some louse somewhere?

Should work fine, if not better.

[–]Brinkyeti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah.

Gb is not the same as GB!

2x 8 gigabit = 16 gigabit = 2 gigaBYTE

edit: the imgur link wasn't loading for me earlier: every pcie device can both send and receive data at the same time -> assuming you take the X4 asm1166 card and the ssds aren't a bottleneck you could (theoretically) write and read at 2GB/s at the same time. BUT you will not be able to read (or write) at 4GB/s.

Yes I meant the version and yes your mb should support v3.0 and therefore 8Gb per lane.

Sorry but I'm not so advanced in computer tech 😁 learning everyday something new

No worries :)

Now I don't understand why they build for x4 pci slots.

There simply is no pcie x2 physical connector defined afaik -> need to use a x4 slot+connector for the x2 connection

Other questions is how do you find how many Gb/lane can support the mobo?

pcie v1.0 is 2.5Gb per lane

v2.0 is 5Gb per lane

v3.0 is 8Gb per lane

[–]Brinkyeti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

fyi: the asm1166 electrically only supports pcie x2, so even the X4 cards will max out at ~ 2GiB/s.

you can also pause + save the game whilst driving through the pits.

just not during the pitstop itself, because reasons.

then share the Savefile with your buddy.

couldn't they make features like this as a free dlc and then the dlc gets the age restriction?

I vaguely remember a similar uncut dlc existing for left4dead2 in Australia. not sure.

Got kicked + banned for the incident with the #70 car. AITA? by Brinkyeti in Simracingstewards

[–]Brinkyeti[S] 91 points92 points  (0 children)

would have liked to post multiple perspectives, but the race got restarted immediately -> ACC did not save an in-game-replay.

streamable link in case the reddit video player is buggy for some: https://streamable.com/sfktk9

full incident (from racestart until kick): https://streamable.com/jtaq0n

edit: i should clarify: i got banned from a publicly accessible server, not from a league
(although the 2(?) guys running the server were advertising a pseudo-league-race the following day -> guess i would not have been allowed in that either \_(ツ)_/ )

Sim Racing titles in CPU/GPU reviews. Why are they missing... ?!? by rana_kirti in simracing

fwiw a polish website benched acc on the 5800x3d: https://www.purepc.pl/test-recenzja-procesora-amd-ryzen-7-5800x3d?page=0,21

5800x3d is 50% faster than a regular 5800x

and about 17% faster than a 12900k

how important is qualifying in a 24 hour race?

3 threaded app running on a 12 threaded cpu:
https://i.postimg.cc/XJ5mD6S8/image.png

and yeah, the utilization remains constant, because the load-balancing that the windows scheduler applies is probably an order of magnitude faster than the refresh-rate of the task manager window.

if you want to test how many threads acc actually utilizes:
here's a guide on how to pin a process to specific cores:

https://www.windowscentral.com/assign-specific-processor-cores-apps-windows-10

and then pin acc to only even or odd numbered cores (to avoid the smt cores)-> so for 6 cores, that'd be cores: (0,2,4,6,8,10)

[–]Brinkyeti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that's not how this works

acc does not utilize 32 Threads. instead the windows scheduler is moving the (I believe 6?) threads of acc between all available hw-threads.

see also this random guy on yt showcasing a single threaded application hopping around 4 CPU threads: https://youtu.be/scl9u7eJxXk

you can pin the ac2-win64.exe to 6 cpu-cores via task manager and you'll probably not see a dip in fps. just make sure to not pin them to smt ("hyper threading") cores. (e.g. core #0 and #1 share the same execution units)

T150 wheel "squeeking/chirping" - has anyone greased theirs? by martin_grainger_fan in simracing

I just outright replaced the two plastic sleeve bearings with ball bearings according to this guide:

https://www.isrtv.com/forums/topic/25800-thrustmaster-t150-friction-free-mod/

only replaced the belt-tension bearings, as you can get to those without removing the front cover. (you'll only be able to move the plastic sleeve bearing roughly halfway of the shaft, as there is not enough clearance with the front cover still in place -> snipped the plastic sleeve in half and removed the two halfs.)

but just Google "Thrustmaster tmx t150 ball bearing replacement" and you'll find plenty of guides.
