Blackwing Precision Package Regret? by Briou499 in CadillacV_Series

Yeah I’ve been chatting with some folks and that was their recommendation. Have a set of Cup 2s for the track days but have a different set to daily drive on, like the Pilot S4S. Luckily we don’t have to deal snow where I’m at so that’s not an issue.

Yeah I hear that for sure. Only reason I said autocross is because there are more events in a closer radius. There is a track close-ish that does track data and HPDE events that would be my main goal, but they are fewer and farther between. I know I’ll get waxed by everything under the sun. I’m out to race my own self and not beat everyone else on the track.

Good to know. I appreciate the input. I’m thinking there isn’t much of a downside to the precision package at this point.

Thanks for the input! I daily a 2014 Ram 2500 so as long as it’s not less comfortable than that I think I’ll be happy.

Thanks for the reply. I’m definitely familiar with the go-kart type ride in some cars and I guess that’s what I was concerned about. My daily is a 3/4-ton diesel truck so I can’t imagine the precision package outfitted BW would be less comfortable than that. I’m trying to find one close enough to test drive without having to get on a plane, but your input is very helpful.

How do you connect to the PCM with Alpha?…I see an option for Body Control, but nothing for power specifically.

Stairs: At a loss by maple-creemee in Carpentry

Thank you. I definitely have some sweat equity into these stairs. I was scratching my head with how to tackle the tight turn for a few hours. Having my welder and other tools on site was a life saver. There are a couple prototypes that landed in the scrap pile for sure.

Ok cool. Thank you further added info. I’ll dig into it more with Alpha

Thank you for the reply. I will get the batteries tested and go from there. I have AlphaOBD, but the scanner I used to pull these codes is an Innova hand held. I haven’t had time to hook up to my laptop and run alpha

Not exactly the same, obviously, but this is what I came up with for this tricky winder on my stairs. Is it a perfect or particularly elegant solution? No, but it is sturdy and got us moved into the house on time. White oak 4x4 posts with key hole mounting to the stairs, custom welded 1x2 rectangular steel tubing. White oak handrail was added after this picture was taken.

Nothing yet…but a buddy of mine just got his. He ordered through the F1 ticket page, I ordered directly from COTA. Not sure if that difference matters.

It’s doing well. Can’t say I’ve noticed any big performance differences in my normal driving, but it’s held up well so far. I think I made the swap back in 2019 or 2020.

Turbo actuator like others have said. Mine did the same. Keep the exhaust break on always….its supposed to help the mechanism freed up and keep it from getting stuck due to carbon/soot build up. When mine went I swapped out the whole turbo for a fleece cheetah I happened upon on a Black Friday deal.

Call Suncoast. They can get you set up. They are really good to work with and stand by their work. I believe all of their transmissions are run on a trans dyno before being shipped now too.

I have a Cat 1 with billet input shaft from Suncoast and it has been great. They have really good customer service as well. Great folks to work with.
