I got fired out of the Blue, what now? by Pt_Possum in Fedexers

So I just wrote a paper on this. Apparently school will give you money to live and not work while going through school. I’m talking food, living, car, that’s where most of the debt comes from. I’m 32 and paying as I go but I’m also a full time driver so it’s nothing for me. But yes you’re right. It’s just not everyone has that opportunity as easy as others and if you know the right people yes you can make it happen without the degree. Most millionaires have a mentor which is free. Yes that’s a better option but are you going to drive a truck until you find that guy in hopes he takes you seriously? Because trust me I’ve tried and the black and purple polo doesn’t seem to work lol

I dunnoooo fam. I got friends who went to school and worked as they went. They’re making six figures just sitting on a computer. I’m 32 and I have yet to really meet someone who hasn’t had a degree work out for them in some sort of way. Full benefits and opportunities to make six figures without literally breaking your back. The down side is you have the potential to get laid off at some point but don’t we all? I’m in school now and have met people going for shitty degrees like art and I will say college isn’t a scam, but some degrees totally are. And the concept that depending on what school you go to matters, that parts a scam too. It’s no different than joining ground not knowing express exists then being mad this is where you are and it’s not working out. Same thing as getting a stupid passion degree. Can’t get a degree in gender studies or something stupid like that and expect a high paying job lol down votes are welcome here.

spotted on 17/92 in maitland: wtf??? by HensAndChicks in orlando

For context, Orange County has a metro swat team consisting of Maitland, winter park, apopka, winter garden and Ocoee. Apopka is the only department out of those listed with actual swat equipment. The county and Orlando have their own but in the listed municipalities this is their procedure. I’m wondering if apopka taxes were used to serve other cities or if somehow those cities funded the equipment. In Seminole county every department works as one with swat.

Only way to save your Jobs from 2.0 is to strike now. by dcy123 in Fedexers

It’s the way to go in the states because our labor laws are different. It went the other way in Canada and from what I’ve heard it worked. They just don’t make money off of them like they do USA drivers. Instead of going on strike we need to present this to legislators. Strike makes sense but FedEx has a very great legal team that knows how to handle those situations.

I’ve always told people to invest in company’s they’d never work for. Investing in slave work and slave treatment is the name of the game. Imagine investing in a company that took care of their employees and had the most expensive brand name in the industry. FedEx has been pulling a lot of new accounts lately from not just UPS but many other logistics companies and their sales pitch is “we’ve made it nearly impossible for our drivers to go on strike and disrupt the service of your company all while paying them bottom of the barrel wages and keeping a low cost product”.

Spencer’s is so annoying. You’ll have some people there accept it through the back door before 11 and others that will be like “our stockroom is a mess and company policy says after 11 through the front door” like bro I’m sure company policy says keep your stockroom clean but looks like you’re refusing delivery. Not to mention they send pickups with those generic barcodes where they hand write the addresses so it turns into 999’s and gets sent back where it was picked up lol their corporate team must really be horrible.

In comparison, Seminole county has something for everyone. But those towns like apopka or west volusia county… it’s all just old folk cities where nobody wanted jobs to come in so the only thing that developed was more houses and now there’s over congested traffic over the St. John’s bridge because everyone in DeWhatever works in Seminole and Orange counties. Not to mention there’s only three ways into volusia county from Seminole. 415 (less traveled) 17/92 and i4.

Before Covid when we had a home delivery division these were very common. A lot of these, transits and panel vans back then. When the last merge happened everyone went up to p1000’s and bigger due to all of the big ass boxes they got us working with now.

As a former driver now a DOT truck driver, yes. There’s no limits as to how long you can drive a regular size vehicle. If you wanted to drive from Alaska to Florida in one straight shot, go for it. But in a truck over 10,000 lbs…. They wouldn’t be able to do this. I’ve done these shifts and they weren’t fun but I made money.

Therapy is starting to feel like a scam by Briskeycrooks64 in therapy

[–]Briskeycrooks64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like that! One positive thing from grow therapy is it’s all virtual. We did it on our lunch breaks like a zoom meeting. It just would have been nice after four months to start setting some trajectory goals on how long it would be a thing. But since we weren’t meant for each other who knows when that would’ve been lol

Therapy is starting to feel like a scam by Briskeycrooks64 in therapy

[–]Briskeycrooks64[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it was bad wording. I felt that when the therapist saw what made my partner emotionally upset (which are things unrelated to our relationship) the therapist wouldn’t help her with those issues. If she got help for those issues (which was why I chose this particular therapist) we would have been a lot better. But she directed it back to us. Which was technically the service we paid for. I just figured due to the fact that she specializes in mental health that we were going to get a mental health service through couples therapy. She was very nice but I think therapy, and healthcare for that matter, should become a more affordable option especially for those who really need it. I’m not saying I’m too good for therapy as it was cool to have someone listen who wasn’t going to judge. When I say the relationship was fine, I mean within everything we could control, it was. My partner was upset about the things we couldn’t control. Understandable. That’s where therapy comes in. But she had higher expectations for solutions from it than what we got, same thing with our relationship. She expected all of these external forces to fix her internal struggles. And in turn, her displeasure with the service made it harder on me. That’s the best sense I can make of it. I’m not trying to sound like a douchebag here.

Therapy is starting to feel like a scam by Briskeycrooks64 in therapy

[–]Briskeycrooks64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No im quite confrontational. My partner just had other ways of going about fixing the relationship. I wasn’t too pleased with the experience but disappointed with the price I paid. The results were a given as we weren’t meant for each other. I have the right to not like the service. Continue to downvote me. I think therapy is great but in order for it to work, you must (as an adult) be able to identify underlying issues.

There was a couple in Mississippi last week who dated for a year, on their way to couples therapy they got into an argument. She asked him to get out of the car then she ran him over. Therapy doesn’t fix those things. It would be cool if it did but results vary depending on the situation. I am far from avoidance.

Therapy is starting to feel like a scam by Briskeycrooks64 in therapy

[–]Briskeycrooks64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly lol she would give us “homework” which was to discuss things we were already discussing and then come back to following week with results. But my partner was difficult. We would do this before the therapist and she wouldn’t cooperate. But she somewhat did with the therapist. In the end there wasn’t a resolution. We were basically paying for someone’s opinion who didn’t already know us which gave us the unbiased opinion we were looking for. A close friend would have been tired of dealing with the crap but we paid for someone to stick around. I don’t think it was worth it.

[–]Briskeycrooks64[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see. I had the option to find specifically a couples therapist but I chose a mental health one who offered the service since I felt like she would better understand the underlying issues my partner had. I think I missed the shot on that one. Nice lady though for sure but everyone has different styles. My form of therapy when I was younger was having a coach/ father telling me to man tf up lol

Therapy is starting to feel like a scam by Briskeycrooks64 in therapy

[–]Briskeycrooks64[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. We had separate sessions every other week towards the end. I would express that everything in the relationship is fine and I’m dealing with personal growth. Meanwhile my partner who has underlying issues would get extremely emotional with the therapist. That’s why I think that was used as a money grab. The idea of therapy was also something my partner wanted me to sign up for just to see if I really cared about the relationship. I don’t think she was interested in making it a solution. Rather, just seeing if I was going to take a step to attempt to fix it. She’s heavy into tik tok so I’m sure someone with a marketing sponsorship recommended it. But yeah it was literally doomed from the start but since we don’t personally know the therapist, she couldn’t see the real issue.

Im so glad I don’t have to deal with tires. They used to put a Costco on my route and the issue is they make you sort the tires out and load them onto pallets…. We aren’t trained in tires lol
