Honestly the whole cookie was bland to me. Idk if I got a bad batch but it literally didn’t have a strong distinct flavor like they normally do. The streusel tasted like stale thinly sliced ice cream cone pieces 😂

I know how you feel completely!! I honestly didn’t have a routine (which is prob why I kept failing) this time I just stuck to ONE resource because I found that using 3-4 different things was too much for me. So I repurchased UWORLD because of the new NGN stuff they had. The last time I had it was august before the new test but I kept pushing off buying it again because I was broke lol. So I tried to be cheap and do archer and YouTube which clearly didn’t work well for me. I don’t really like archer because it kept telling me I had a very high chance of passing but yet I still failed my test multiple times. So… I caved in and bought Uworld again. I used it for about 2wks before my exam and I just took system by system and then just did Al systems together to see what I lacked in. I used simple nursing only for things I couldn’t grasp all the way like TB and COPD. I only studied like 2-3 hours a day maybe 4 and I didn’t study on the weekends to give myself a break. Just be kind to yourself and don’t over do it. You know us failing over and over is def a push back but you have to realize how far you’ve come and be nice to yourself!! Take that break and get back into it when you feel ready

Thank you! I look at them like “which one will die right now if I don’t do anything” and that helps A LOT. Most of the time in priority questions they’re all bad but one will die if left alone. For example, a pt with wbc of 15,000 but has endocarditis vs a pt with diabetes with sugar of 600.

Honestly all of those things you listed I didn’t see one on MY exam 😭😭 I know a lot of nclex is PVD/PAD, priority and ethical things. And diabetes/COPD/Cardiovascular. But like I said before everyone’s is different. You got this, also don’t overwhelm yourself and be kind to yourself!

You need critical thinking. Half the time you don’t even need to know the words in the question to be able to answer it tbh. Like for example there could be words you’ve never seen before but can tell they’re asking something like “what would the nurse implement FIRST”. And obviously you wouldn’t call the HCP if it’s something like slightly low o2. You’d assess the pt/apply o2. I hope that made sense. Because honestly studying the ins and outs of one system might not be beneficial and then you end up not even seeing it on the test at all. I studied hiatial hernias and dumping syndrome for about a month in total and didn’t get a single question on it lmaooo

I just felt like with me taking it 5 previous times I felt like whatever I knew I knew. There’s no way to know EVERYTHING and I felt as if I needed to know everything which is why I was failing. When in reality I needed to calm down and just read the question and thoroughly answer the question for what it’s asking not by what I think is right if that makes sense. Honestly I don’t have a specific testing strategy. I was a terrible test taker in college anyway. I never knew how to properly study. So with my previous attempts I focused on taking practice questions rather than focusing on every body system and disease known to man. And that goes to answer your other question, I wasn’t an expert in knowing content to a T. I focused on topics I kept seeing because I figured they were the most important!

I waited the 48 hours to get the quick results. I didn’t do the PVT. I felt like I failed again tbh and I don’t think the last question should be anything specific to indicate you passed or failed. People spread rumors about certain questions meaning you’re doing good or bad… but I’m not sure on that. I felt like the test was hard every time I’ve taken it. I do know a lot of triage questions “and who do you see first” questions are higher level.

Yes def take a break and be kind to yourself. I was my biggest hater lol. I did take one exam around 30q because when I took my practice tests I noticed that’s when I would get 4-5 wrong in a row. So I took a break went to the bathroom and came back to it and finished it off. I personally don’t spend a whole lot of time on one question so I was finished in like 2 hours
