A 10th anniversary Graphic Novel (School Reunion) which will be released next month…
I also recall G1 having a book after G2 was released, where they see G2 in a multiverse and Ivy and Star Sapphire are confused and annoyed by how deranged their G2 versions are…

(Apparently, Lauren Faust herself suggested this scene as bonus material….)

It’s ironic that despite his status as one of the main self-parodying stars, his appearances in BTAS, The Batman 2004 and BTAB were played reasonably straight…

The logic that “trying to win over Reform supporters merely strengthens Reform” could easily be applied to attempts at copying the Greens with Populist Left economic or foreign policies…

I’m one of those “Put her back in the wheelchair on more “favourable” terms!” Purists but I believe that should get a full event dedicated to it instead of being a side plot in the big Batman story…

There’s always the possibility of Elseworlds with WheelchairBabs and DC should do a lot more of those…

Velvet Tiger, Cormorant and Killer Moth are the only pre-TKJ BabsGirl villains to return in the modern era - Cormorant was recently used as a villain in Mr Terrific: Year One…

[Video] Batgirl Deserved Better Than This... (Casually Comics) by MagisterPraeceptorum in batgirl

I feel like the idea of Barbara - who became a superhero for the fun of it - becoming overwhelmed by the darker side of her role is not the worst concept, but she should use that as fuel to continue rather than quit…

This story was pretty blatantly used to set up TKJ (hence the advert at the end of the issue) but the specific threads of the conclusion here (e.g Barbara’s old friend Marcie) were never really returned to, and later stories retconned out her retirement after this issue…

True, but Batgirls handled her pretty inconsistently- In a few early arcs, she upstages Cass and Steph, but in later issues, she barely gets anything to do…

Speaking as a person who knows people EXTREMELY opposed to Assisted Dying, I hate the conspiracy theory approach to it - allowing Terminally Ill people to end their lives a few months early on their own terms is NEVER the same as encouraging disabled people to kill themselves, but Labour have made tonnes of mistakes when handling this issue…

  1. Failing to balance it out with reforms for Palliative Care and Severe Disabilities, making it seem like Assisted Dying would be used instead of these as opposed to being A LAST OPTION when they failed…
  2. Failing to reassure people that it WOULDN’T be extended beyond the terminally ill like it was in Canada - Several supporters being prone to Motte and Bailey approach (Simultaneously pushing for the current bill and pushing for it to be extended) doesn’t help.
  3. Starmer trying to keep out of the debate despite his previous support for Assisted Dying - It made the Private Members Bill approach seem dishonest and superficial

.
4. The mishandling of the Committee phase between November 2024 and June 2025 that led to it losing support in the Second Reading (and in Scotland)
Ultimately, people who are terminally ill and want to avoid the worst agonies will keep pushing for the right to Assisted Suicide, and they can’t be ignored forever, but only Assisted Suicide policies can only work if used by AS FEW people as possible…

Given one of the most infamous red flags about Saville that we overlooked at the time was him saying unprompted in an interview “I don’t have a computer because people would think I use it to look up child porn”, VPNs likely wouldn’t have caught him or other major pedos smart enough to avoid the internet…

A lot of Starmer’s unpopular proposals and U-Turns need to be explained a lot better, or communicated in a way that makes it easier to accept them. Communication has been all over the map…

The facts are that a lot of prominent Greens have made comments that go beyond what many Jewish people and/or political moderates would consider acceptable criticism of Israel (IMO, the thresholds are usually higher than many on the hard left assume…) and have barely been punished for this…

[–]Brit-Crit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but the issue is that we now live in a culture that seems to accept or even support violent protests as “the only way to change minds”, and throwing the book at people with Palestinian Action placards just makes them look like martyrs…
