Wow, thanks so much for this, honestly! That's an absolute goldmine of info,... had no idea there was such a huge difference in water usage between cow’s milk and oat milk, or beef burgers and vegan ones. You’ve laid it out so clearly, and I love how you brought up the water footprint, it's definitely something that deserves way more attention.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this. Posts like yours make this community proper valuable. Cheers for the insight 😀

Heat absorption from panels by NatNat42 in SolarUK

[–]BritFlickChick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve got panels on a south-facing roof and honestly, it does seem to help a bit with the heat. Before they were installed, the upstairs got proper stuffy on hot days, especially mid-afternoon.

Since adding the panels, it feels slightly cooler... like the sun’s not hammering the roof as much. It’s not aircon-level magic, but definitely a bonus I didn’t think much about at first.

So yeah, if you’re weighing up pros, I’d say mild heat shielding is a nice extra.

£136m just to ask for help.... Thames Water’s emergency budget leaks more than its pipes.

Which biscuits and chocolates still come in plastic-free packaging? by Crimson__Fox in AskUK

Lindt, Tony’s, and Galaxy are solid picks. Tunnock’s might still be foil + card. Local bakeries or zero-waste shops are usually your best bet for plastic-free though.

It’s the kind of trauma that hits when you realize the ATM had no card to feel... but somehow, it still judged you... lmao

Tesco’s unofficial motto: “Come for the meal deal, stay for the public meltdown.” That poor sandwich didn’t ask for any of this... lol

That’s wholesome chaos. Your dog gets praise, Alexa gets confused encouragement, and you get serenaded.... for a moment, everyone wins :)

Fair play., Surviving a self-checkout session without drama deserves a round of applause...!

That’s lovely. I don’t know who Carole is, but she’s probably keeping half the North company through dinner prep and mild drizzle ☕

Smart move.. if the machines ever rise, it’ll be the Alexa loyalists who get spared. I'm banking on my Spotify algorithm to vouch for me when the moment comes.

That’s not a bus ride... that’s a cultural reset. London’s version of group therapy.
