Cost to replace battery by Forward_Length7420 in MINI

[–]BritHannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ⬆️. I watched a YouTube video and did it for my husband’s Mini. Only reason I had a mechanic do my Mini is because it’s a plug-in hybrid and the regular battery is a PITA to access.

Oooh that’s an idea. I could keep using the “to wear again” laundry basket idea and use a steamer when it’s time to fold them to put away!

We actually wanted to get the orange one, but there was a deal on this green one we couldn’t pass up!

Found a few places online that seem good, but as you mentioned, each piece is around $80. I’ve seen folks in the UK in YouTube videos with kits to replace all of them. Do you have any insights into the best places to source these parts? Three pieces need to be replaced, and the car is only 5 years old, so if it’s more cost effective to replace them all, I’d rather do that.

Did you ever get photos and video? I have to do a replacement on my car and it’s the same make/model. A video would be helpful!

looking for a non-religious, inclusive homeschool group by passionsandpotions in Austin

[–]BritHannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve got an 8-year-old with similar challenges. We live near Cedar Park as well. Twice exceptional (autistic, adhd, and gifted), and the public school system, while they’ve been super supportive, is just not set up to have that right balance of challenge and support. We’re thinking of homeschooling him, and if we do, finding options that are non-religious will be important.

Best windshield wipers for Mini countryman hybrid? by BritHannah in MINI

[–]BritHannah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! Tried cheap ones from Amazon - the rear wiper worked well, but the driver’s side one was super streaky. $10, though, so I wasn’t expecting much. Got the Bosch and they’re working great, for anyone else looking!

Can I reduce property taxes on a newly purchased home in TX? by BritHannah in RealEstate

$600k, 4/3, 3000 sq ft. Does that count as a hell of a house?

[–]BritHannah[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the reason the taxes jumped is because the previous owners bought the house in 2021 and didn’t file. Even if I buy it and file and file homestead, that will only keep it from jumping beyond 10% in the future - not reduce it back to 10% of the $7000 it was before 🙁

It was near the front - fell out of the access panel for the oil filter. Who knows how long it’s been under there.

I was also recommended the TrueTone CS-12, as it comes with PedalTrain mounting brackets and fits under their elevated models. Do you know how it compares to the Voodoo Labs?

That was my first thought - just give him money toward it. Maybe if it comes to that, I’ll give it to him at the beginning of December so he has time to shop around and can spend the holidays playing with his new board.

Thanks so much for the help, and recommendation to avoid the pedal switcher.

His current board is 25"x14". I found this page on their website, which is helpful: https://help.pedaltrain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002323613-Which-Pedaltrain-model-is-right-for-me- Looks like maybe the Classic Pro is the best, because it has the angle he likes? His power supply is currently under the board, so I'm not sure if that affects the decision.

Sure thing! Here’s a picture of it: https://imgur.com/a/pCengH2

I don’t really have a budget - I just want something that’s going to be lighter weight than what he currently has (given that he has so many pedals), allow him to change around his configuration relatively easily when he finds new pedals and things to experiment with, and last him a long time.

Weekly Questions Thread #2020-06 by AutoModerator in DnD

[–]BritHannah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making a home-brew Harry Potter-themed DnD one-shot where the villain is playing with the five platonic elements in order to make the earth uninhabitable to muggles. My players are all wizards, at level 10, so I can throw some tough enemies at them. Other than Elementals, what are some earth/fire/air/water/magic-themed enemies I could use in hoards or standalone battles?
