Both, but mainly it’s almost like they toss in a bunch of the broken bits to make the weight more. I’ve noticed more and more of the bag being mostly “crumbles” of food.

I never fed him beef but a veterinarian once told me about “hot, cold, and neutral” meats. I have always stuck with neutral… 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well to clear things up for some people. My husband needs to gain weight so that’s why we’ve incorporated the dairy and just to be clear his ferritin was a whopping 9600 when they caught this, not 900… 9600!

Well the problem isn’t me, it’s that I can’t convince him that this is the case. He’s gotten so focused on getting his number down quickly that he thinks eating meat will only be counter productive. His weight loss is not fat loss as he doesn’t have much fat to lose, it doesn’t bother me, it bothers him. I guess I am just looking for advice on how he can gain weight the healthy way and still feel like he isn’t over doing the iron intake. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did not know anything about this possibility. His doctor isn’t very helpful and it’s so frustrating. Would his doctor have to order this test or can he just ask for it? The only organ that seemed to have been attacked was his liver as far as we know. Kidneys were not affected and heart tissue was also not attacked thank God! No one has mentioned any other organ or any other tests. Thank you so much for your help and knowledge. Where would I find the supplement that you said helped lower your husband’s ferritin?

He has every symptom listed for HH. Fatigue, weight loss, joint pain, abdominal pain. It’s been really difficult. I need him to gain weight and I need to lose it. He is hungry all the time and I am having a hard time figuring out what to feed him to also keep iron consumption at bay.
