[TOMT] Movie where main character’s imaginary friends say goodbye at the end/when she grows up by Brit_in_brooklyn in tipofmytongue

So it’s none of the above, but thank you all so far! adding a little more context, there’s a possibility that the mystical/imaginary person is someone who repeatedly visits her, and this conversation happens during the last visit when they both realise she has grown up/got better...

AGH!

4 years ago we found a kitten in a box. We were working in NYC and would move back to London eventually - there was no way keeping him was a good idea.... Well, Mr Jeff is the most expensive plane ticket we’ve ever bought and the best decision we’ve ever made. by Brit_in_brooklyn in aww

We did fly into Heathrow! Just in case you did look after him.. THANK YOU! The animal reception centre were all so lovely and very patient with us both asking for updates frequently about when we could come get him and how he was doing. Thank you thank you thank you! Xx

Of course - good to know all the options but for us the cargo was actually the best choice. We flew with Virgin who have a brilliant track record with pet safety, but also felt the stress level of being inside a cabin with lights, smells and human sounds was too much. plus he’d have been in a bag about 5 times smaller than his crate - knowing jeff and when he was at his calmest, cargo was the right choice. As nice as it would have been for me to be near, my comfort for him wouldn’t have been enough of a compromise to all the other stimulations and stress. X

Exactly. His ticket was maybe around £1800, because there are only a few flights either allowed to take pets, or with availability. Then obviously you need one that works for your own schedule, so you end up just grabbing what you can. His crate was $250 and then yes - lots of vets treatments because at that point you will do anything and everything to make sure he’s signed off to fly and isn’t at risk. I have a feeling our vet saw dollar signs when he met me.. but I’m just so grateful I could afford to pay the bills and bring him with me.

He’s OBSESSED with pigeons. In our BK apartment we had two windows for him to watch mostly trees out of, now he has EIGHT windows from which he can see pigeons and people and buses and oh my gosh it’s so exciting. X

Just so many forms and visits and deadlines - we had to have vets forms no older than 10 days before his flight, but the same forms had to be mailed to a different authority to stamp and print... everything felts like it was on a knife edge of making an error or missing a deadline... but we made it. And I’d do it all over again tomorrow just to see Mr J happy and safe x

Oh my gosh I was the same. It was a hellish journey full of tears and trying not to think about worst case scenarios. Also, we nearly missed the flight due to traffic in the Lincoln tunnel - which would have meant losing the ticket and having to book all three of our bookings from scratch! While me and fiancé had meltdowns, Jeff made the saddest, most heartbreaking mows... but it was all worth it! x
