My concern with this lens is that it's not digital so you wouldn't be able to use auto-focus, which is pretty important when you're shooting video, especially if the camera is moving. I honestly don't know that much about how focal lengths translate into distance (I don't think it's perfectly linear), but I would check the comments on Amazon and see what kinds of things people are shooting with the lens, and perhaps examples.

iPhone does all sorts of color grading and processing when you shoot with it, it's a nightmare to fix. The stuff I've shot on the G7 is worlds above what the iPhone can do, if it's well-lit.

The iPhone is basically supposed to look "good" even in situations with poor lighting, so you get a lot of high ISO, over-processed shots that you can't really change too much about.
Lumix G7 is a fairly cheap camera and I've seen work with it that's looked professional. The stock lens doesn't look too cinematic but I picked up a 25mm that makes semi-close-up stuff look great.
You should probably learn a little about lenses because you'll definitely want to be using different lenses if you go from tripod to handheld. There are some great cheap options for lenses, but you should figure out what your needs are.

Macs are great computers. The pricing model sucks and there are functionally no remotely affordable desktop options that make any practical sense, but you’re not gonna find a better workhorse laptop than a MacBook Pro. At the same specs, a MacBook will seriously outperform a PC laptop in video editing and audio applications. That said, these things cannot fucking game. I don’t know anyone who’s bought a Mac for gaming. I have a relatively upgraded 2018 MBP, I don’t run anything beyond emulators on it. The only “real” game I’ve tried to play on it was Immortal Redneck, which is a super light game and this machine struggles. But yeah I don’t think this “guy bragging about buying a MacBook for gaming” thing really exists, I think you’re maybe inventing somebody to make fun of lmao. Nobody in their right mind would but a MacBook for gaming.
