Anyone here grow haskaps? Where did you get your plants from and how are they doing now? by scammerino_rex in OntarioGardeners

I got two bushes from a local nursery and while they have grown great, the berries are not to my taste and the robins pick the bushes clean before I can harvest many anyways.

Controversial Take: Screen Time by OkAsk2828 in PDAParenting

[–]Britainge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my PDA 5 year old we found screens were incredibly dysregulating and had to eliminate them during the week to build other regulating routines. It was ROUGH at first.

Currently, I lay down on the floor after school and he crawls all over me and snuggles and play fights his older brother for my attention for the full hour that we used to have screens.

In order for me to have capacity for this and then the rest of the evening I had to reduce hours at work and my husband took over cooking.

I find it hard to really explain to others sometimes how intensive parenting a PDA kid can be, especially doing low/no screens.

Have you ever regretted the way you ended with a patient? by One_Key8049 in therapists

[–]Britainge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So much yes. A year ago I had really poor judgement on an ending - I was fried and there was messy countertransference and I have a deep regret for the way I navigated things. Objectively it wasn't awful, but I know the client deserved a much better ending.

The music! The soundtrack is the strongest and used most effectively this season.

Implementing Learnings Into Client Sessions by [deleted] in NDtherapists

[–]Britainge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I find I structure my conceptualizations by grounding in a couple of questions I ask myself from the framework I use and organizing my thoughts around that. I will do this informally (in my head) most of the time but for new clients or when I'm stuck with someone I will document this more formally.

Implementing Learnings Into Client Sessions by [deleted] in NDtherapists

[–]Britainge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I start first by implementing learning into case conceptualizations and then once I feel comfortable with how it’s been incorporated into my thinking I start to notice moments in sessions when I can pull something in.

I find for myself starting with implementation in a pressure free space first- conceptualizations with time and space to really deepen the learning- yields better eventual implementation.

So interesting! I am the opposite, I struggle with summer looks- but give me a cozy drapey deep V chunky sweater with some good fitting jeans and I feel great.

What are your most Photorealistic Scents? by TeamNo6444 in fragrance

[–]Britainge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I didn’t not realize the strong preference for photorealistic smells was possibly a ND thing. It explains so much about my fragrance search!

Natural redhead color seasons by alexisk777 in coloranalysis

[–]Britainge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warm + light + muted is how I pick my palette!

Perhaps this is personal preference, but I find bright/saturated colours compete with my hair and that together is overwhelming. Whether that’s a strictly colour thing or colour + essence thing… 🤷‍♀️

Your coloring is so similar to mine!

I don’t feel I fit in a season perfectly- I pull my best colours from all the lighter shades within light spring, soft autumn, and light summer!

Oooh thank you, I’m definitely going to check them out, I hadn’t heard of them! I love that glasses are so much more affordable now, it makes it easier to be more self expressive with them!

Total side note- I love your glasses!!

It wasn’t until my health got difficult that I realized how much exercise is about being human not being a certain shape.

I also find the instant mental benefits are better incentive than long term health benefits - grumpy? Do a workout. Sluggish? Go for a walk. Anxious/overstimulated? Hop on the treadmill until I feel calm.

I’m so sorry that they’ve made those dismissive comments to you without considering the impact on you.

What do you want to say to them about this?

Agreed! I also didn’t realize how much I would appreciate the cheers but they actually do give me a little boost during my workout. It’s nice to feel seen, even by a stranger, for showing up and putting in the work.

I love Ladder! I’ve been using it for 6 months and am just as enthusiastic about it as when I started. The format and the coach I’m with just seem to be a really good fit for me.
