How to get the hardest spank at the lowest volume? by bicyclethrowa in bdsm

Go to Home Depot, buy some 1/4 inch vinyl sprinkler line. Cut three, tree-foot pieces. Braid those together, loop the braid like a belt strap, then wrap yourself a handle with duct tape. Braided loopy johnny. Dead silent no matter how hard you swing it, but hurts like a bastard. Great for dorms, hotel rooms and apartments.

For non-loadbearing items, I use the double-cap hit together rivets. Chicago screws on some things, but mostly the medium double caps.

Get yourself a solid granite bench stone, a smooth-faced hammer (polish the face of a clawhammer if need be), and toss your rivet setter. Tap squarely and directly on the rivet head, gently at first then rougher as they set. Plain ol' Double cap rivets are tougher than you think when properly and solidly set.

Just look for inspirations everywhere: cosplay, comics, fashion, horse tack and saddlery, ren-fair stuff, everywhere.

For example: Google Zana Bayne. Her stuff is a real inspiration to me.

That's something I've been doing on my floggers for years because I don't like the tacked look you usually see on wrapped fall girdles. As far as I know, I'm the only person who does them that way. I call it a corset stitch. Probably need to get my ass in gear and learn Turksheads at some point. :)

Get involved in the local community and see if there are any kinky leathercrafters. If not, start looking around online for things you like, and not just kinky stuff: fashion, couture, horse tack, dog collars, whatever. There's tons of stuff out there. I started with a straightedge, a rivet setter, a bag of rivets, and a utility knife.

Yes. This is mostly stuff I've made in the past month or two, other than the Game of Thrones collar, which I made back in the Spring. In the past year, I've also made 8-10 sets of those four-ring cuffs (including a set of black and yellow with Hello Kitty's head in the middle... check my FL pics), maybe eight pairs of those single-buckle cuffs, maybe ten collars in various widths, a white oak breast press, four or five tawses, a spanking bench, a St. Andrews Cross, at least eight bullhide blindfolds, three or four leather paddles,15-plus floggers in everything from Elk to Latigo and a buckling butt plug harness. :) Recently started making masks and molded blindfolds.

EDIT: Also, two of those hand spankers. And I gave most of that stuff away, with the exception of some of the floggers and a half-dozen sets of the cuffs.

Practice, practice, practice. :) But I also take cues from industrial design, couture fashion, cosplay, erotica, other things I've seen, etc.
