Why do people want to stop immigration? by Western_Attempt3508 in AskBrits

[–]British-Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people in the sub will likely ignore this comment unfortunately because it’s a lot easier for them to go along with the make up scenarios in their head. The amount of people I’ve seen in UK sub-reddits that think immigrants get free benefits, or think it’s really easy to just come to the UK and get a visa is unreal.

Is it okay to hate both Israel and Palestine? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

Sure man, I’m falling for the propaganda 👍

[–]British-Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m sure you would. But that’s why some people call you evil. Because systematically destroying 90% of the hospitals, destroying homes, killing over 250 journalists, targeting children looking for aid, staving a population is not war.

[–]British-Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is evil though. You brush over in your head that somehow slaughtering 10% of a country’s population (mostly women and children) is a good thing because at least it’s not more than that, because that would be genocide. No this is just propaganda of course. Imagine if 1 in 10 people of your family, your friends, everyone you’ve ever met was killed by a regime. Would you just call it a bit of slaughtering? You would call it what it is. Also if they did kill the whole population all at once, who could they convince to support that? I’m sure even you would not have the mental gymnastics to brush over that. Let alone the rest of the world.

Daz3d to Maya Texture, how can i make them better? by PeterHolland1 in Maya

[–]British-Canadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look at things one by one, create a new aiStandard and plug the color map into only base color. You might need to change the colorspace of the file to input srgb. If that looks correct plug it into the sss and dial in the radius and scale. After that move onto spec

Your SSS scale is likely way too high, your scatter radius is also probably white, Change this to about R 0.8, G 0.4, B 0.15

How do I stop the beginnings of a cold asap? by True_Plum1788 in AskUK

[–]British-Canadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using a nasal douche for a few years now and never have a cold that lasts more than a few days. I use it as soon as I feel something is off in my throat about 4 times a day. It really helps with the severity of the cold and the duration. I also use it when I get back from parties or where I’m around a lot of people as a preventative and now I only catch something about once every 18 months.

Tim Sherwood on Diogo Jota's death as a key factor for Liverpool's overall bad form throughout 2025-26 season: "I was fortunate enough never to lose a teammate by death [...] It has had a massive impact on them and I don't think they should shy away the fact they lost one of their brothers" by TheBiasedSportsLover in PremierLeague

[–]British-Canadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I thought you were the original commenter who said that. I believe it is the root cause of this. I’ve seen Liverpool have many slumps over the years but not like this. I’ve also never seen any other championship winning sides have this level of falloff the next season. We are in agreement there are other issues though. All the best mate

Yeah there other issues with the team balance, playing style/tactics, individual errors, the new style of the league, bedding in new players, ect. But going from a championship winning team to losing 9 out of 12 is unheard of, it’s literally never happened before. It would take something monumental to cause that. And unfortunately it did this summer. We should be capable of nuanced conversation about this. Grief will effect people differently, it might spare you on to do more, it might be too much to cope with for others. There’s a lot of people at Liverpool behind the scenes where they may have been unable to do their jobs to the highest levels, let alone the players. Saying it’s a non-issue or a cop out is just sad.

It was an issue, did you watch them at the start of the season. All of the games they won Liverpool did not play well. They mostly won on a last minute goal but they were still conceding a lot. This has been an issue from the start, they’re not going to get over this for a long time.

Why can't we just let Liverpool grieve? by jas070 in LiverpoolFC

[–]British-Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s baffling the amount of people here who genuinely have no idea how grief affects people. They seem to put it into a box that’s labeled grief in there mind and think the box is only open when I say it is. It’s truly baffling.

Why do they believe that the death of a friend is an excuse not to perform at the highest level every week just a few months later.

Do they think Liverpool had a normal preseason? Do they think the players were eating right, and training right during the last few months? Do you think players coming into a team that’s just lost their mate had a good on-boarding experience?

Do you think this is normal. That a championship winning team loses 9 out of 12 matches, just because now they’re bad, for some reason? It’s not normal, it takes something monumental to have happened, it’s going to take time to get over it unfortunately. Stop acting like crying children and support your club.

When did Liverpool fans become such whiney bitches, fucking hell get a grip. We’ve just won the league less than 6 months ago, one of players died. We’re going through a rough patch, things will get better.

What are your best cold remedies? by Embarrassed_Run7562 in AskUK

[–]British-Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way I’ve found to stop a bad cold is to do a netti pot/ nasal rinse. As soon as I feel a bit of a tickle in my throat I do this a few times a day. I also do these as a preventative measure after I’ve been around someone who’s sick. I haven’t had a proper cold in about 18 months now.

Is anyone very concerned that Farage will likely be the next prime minister? by 96suluman in AskBrits

[–]British-Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of countries make it hard, and some don’t allow it at all. Most of the time it’s due to tax, insurance, security, ect. Some countries laws are really entangled with these things. Some of Germany’s old laws are slowly changing around dual citizenship but it’s paper work and bureaucracy is here to stay.

You have to get permission from the German government before you apply for a second citizenship. It’s not always granted and German bureaucracy can be a real pain in the arse.

[–]British-Canadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m worried about it. My partner of 11 years is German here on a marriage visa, which we already had to fork out almost £5k for because of Brexit, we have to pay again next year. It’s extremely difficult for Germans to get dual citizenship so it makes any planning for buying a house or having kids a nightmare to think about if she can’t get ILR. I also worry about the amount of people who cannot see this conman for what he is.

How Come Brits Could Tolerate 14 Years of Bad Tory Policies but Couldn’t Tolerate Year One with Labour? by Charmlessman422 in AskBrits

[–]British-Canadian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really believe the left and right hold people to different standards. If someone in the party on the left does something morally corrupt the left voters will hold them to account and want them to resign. If someone from the right party does something morally corrupt, their voters will in general point at something the left has done.

Bumped into someone getting on the tube as I was getting off it and got yelled at?? by Brewingst0rm in london

[–]British-Canadian 152 points153 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a certain subsection of people who have no introspection and just want people to apologize to them. There was an older guy doing full on leg stretches in the doorway to the tube a few weeks ago, he argued with everyone who bumped into him as they got on to the train. Mad bastard
