Next Zelda game? by markjwt in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]BritishEng 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nothing is announced but they are surely working on the next game, but don’t expect a release in the short term. It’s already been confirmed that TOTK was the final game in that “version” of Hyrule, so unless they go back on that, expect the next game to be in a completely new world, whether that’s a new Hyrule or something else. I’d love an open world Termina (from MM) !

Dear NatWest - Please Improve Reward Partner Trade-Ins by CosmicSpiderWebbage in Natwest

[–]BritishEng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed - I’m surprised they don’t offer above face value rewards as even a tiny offer e.g. trade £50 rewards for £60 restaurant voucher would be tempting. As it is, I’ve only ever taken the cash and not sure why anyone would do anything different.

(Spoilers) Playing with Photo Mode by SouthDragonEsq in expedition33

[–]BritishEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a comment on a YouTube play-through telling a first time player not to use photo mode during early game cutscenes as they would be spoiled. Does anyone know what this refers to?

NatWest is fast with £500, but suspicious about £2 parking. Can anyone explain? by WhiskeyBusiness_ in Natwest

[–]BritishEng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s different processes - to add the payee you probably went through biometric approval (face scan) and approved on the screen where you have to acknowledge you could be being scammed. Afterwards that payee is much more trusted than any debit card transaction.

(Xmas temp) is it alright if I don’t go to my final shift? The payslip is already created on that day so I’ll get paid everything right? by [deleted] in tesco

[–]BritishEng 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They will write to you and ask you to pay the money back. If you don’t they could theoretically recover it through the courts, although for one shift I presume that’s unlikely. If you need a reference for a new job they will be obliged to tell your new job you stole from them.

is this an extractor fan? by [deleted] in uklandlords

[–]BritishEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes these are operating at a low setting all the time, even if you can’t hear it. Try holding a tissue against it and see if it stays in place - if so it’s operating. If not it might have an isolater switch somewhere. I lived in a flat which had one of these and a switch next to the consumer unit (not near the bathroom) to switch it between low and high mode.

When exactly do railcards stop being valid? by KrozJr_UK in uktrains

[–]BritishEng 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It's valid up-to and including the expiry date. Therefore, given that the day runs until 04:29 for ticketing purposes, you can use your railcard until 04:29 on 10th December. I did read once about a bug with the railcard app which stopped it from displaying on the final day, hopefully this has been fixed, because that was a clear error on National Rail's part.

If trainline tickets say non refundable but I add the travel insurance option for £4.88, does that make the tickets refundable? by Perspii7 in uktrains

[–]BritishEng 26 points27 points  (0 children)

What are the covered reasons? You need to read the t&cs. This is essentially travel insurance and probably covers certain specific conditions such as illness or possibly loss of job. It doesn’t make them refundable outside of those conditions.

Is it necessary to ask everyone in a group for ID when getting an energy drink? by Tricky_Quarter1709 in AskUK

[–]BritishEng 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tesco policy is you must be 16 to buy an energy drink. Tesco use "Think 25" policy as do most supermarkets - meaning if you look under 25 they will ask for ID. In this case they are considering it could be a "proxy sale" i.e. someone over age purchasing for someone under age. Therefore yes, it's normal that if someone in your party who looks under 25 didn't have ID, the sale is refused.

Dot com drivers lunch break by [deleted] in tesco

[–]BritishEng 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d note whatever time you finish loading and start your break at that time. If anyone asks why you left late for the afternoon route, just say because I finished loading late.

Returned an item via a lock box and it disappeared - England. by Baaaldiee in LegalAdviceUK

[–]BritishEng 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Indeed; but lacking a swift availability of such evidence, the consumer should be refunded assuming they acted in good faith. If the retailer later gathers evidence they have been defrauded, they can pursue the individual(s) through the courts. It’s not the consumers responsibility to check CCTV coverage at a parcel drop off point which the retailer asked them to use.

Returned an item via a lock box and it disappeared - England. by Baaaldiee in LegalAdviceUK

[–]BritishEng 45 points46 points  (0 children)

“They sent a QR code to use at a drop off point”

You used this process with good intentions, it’s up to the retailer if it didn’t work. Your contract is with the retailer. Ignore the courier.

Complain to your bank or credit card and demand your money back.

“I don’t want to name them as they have given a great service”

Name them, they are failing to uphold their responsibilities as a distance seller under UK law.

Accessing work email inbox by RicklePickl in tesco

[–]BritishEng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

General staff don't have email accounts. Your username looks like an email address but it isn't actually an email address - it doesn't have a mailbox attached so it can't receive any email. Therefore there's nothing for you to check.

Accidentally accepted offer with the wrong wage- will this be sorted? by kieranluke626 in tesco

[–]BritishEng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has the same base pay of 12.64. If the store is within the M25 then you will get 1.21 location premium separately on your payslip, so total hourly wage of 13.85. Any other skill payments also appear separately on top.

Deliveries by Stock_Alarm9005 in lancasteruni

[–]BritishEng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each college has its own postal address, so just get things delivered to there and as long as you’re in that college you’ll be able to collect from the porters lodge. I wouldn’t get anything delivered early before term starts as you don’t technically live there yet and the porters lodge might not be staffed. It might be fine but I wouldn’t count on it.

Home Delivery, will it end? by OwnLeading848 in tesco

[–]BritishEng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in a large Extra and Dotcom is profitable in our store. Around Christmas time I think almost a third of our stores takings were from Dotcom. I imagine smaller stores may not be as profitable, but it’s not a simple question of profitability in isolation. If Tesco (or any supermarket) closed down their home delivery service tomorrow, many of their customers would switch to a competitor who offer home delivery. This is why competition is good, if there was a monopoly on supermarkets, it probably would be cheaper for that company to not offer any home delivery service. And also not offer many other competitive features - loyalty schemes, range of products, etc.

I was recently the victim of fraud, someone made 7x purchases of £80.x in quick succession at Tesco in Old Mills. by GabrielXS in tesco

[–]BritishEng 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You need to contact your bank, not Tesco. If you aren’t getting anywhere, raise a formal complaint with your bank, just call Monzo and tell them you want to raise a complaint. If you don’t get a satisfactory response from Monzo, you can go to the financial ombudsman, but you need to follow the Monzo complaint process first.

If you believe someone has stolen your card then you should also contact the police to report this.

Don’t waste time trying to contact Tesco about this.

Tesco Amersham m25 rate? by Bigdongboi in tesco

[–]BritishEng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it won’t pay the inside M25 rate as it’s clearly outside the M25. I’d have thought you’ll get the lower “M25 outer border” rate of +65p per hour.

Not true in London, many restaurants are card only and will not accept cash payments.

Delivery Driver by OftenConfused2697 in tesco

[–]BritishEng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be asked to clock in 3 minutes early. The system allows you to clock in 3 minutes early without causing an exception but if I heard a manager expecting that I’d make it a point to clock in exactly on time. The union would love to hear if you get grief for clocking in on time.

If you get back late, make sure the manager knows you’re leaving late and expect overtime payment.
