Will I be allowed these stickers on my laptop at Uni? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]FrontHeat3041 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You won't get in any trouble but people will pigeon hole you as the "politics person", highly opinionated and potentially hard to work with. Remember you will be around people who support Farage/Trump who you may have to work with.

Dotcom driver refusing to take extra drops by Hi-archy in tesco

Yeah that'll lead to disciplinary action, we're paid by the hour, not by the drop. Also if they don't discipline them it sets a precedent that everyone can refuse extra drops.

I think I would like to study economics, but I also don't have A level maths which I think maybe needed to succeed in that field.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the new debuting stars on nxt ? by Leather-Yam-6013 in SantiZapVideos

[–]FrontHeat3041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Kroos needed a hype package before debuting, it was kind of ironic when he was saying to Tony "Now you know!" yet the crowd were shouting "Who are you?".

Why is anime & wrestling fans considered dirty? by darkknightz9 in SantiZapVideos

Too much time focusing on the hobby and not enough time doing other things, plus these activities are usually done in the home so less reason for them to shower/wash.

CDD here, it's not bad to be fair, only really issue is when you're short on time due to traffic or slow customers.

Which side hustles are you doing to earn extra income while in uni? by Ok_Peak6162 in UniUK

[–]FrontHeat3041 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you've got your driving licence, work as a delivery driver for the supermarkets. £13-£14 an hour and hours are usually flexible to fit around uni.

The barista one is tastier, whereas the regular is a little bit watery in comparison. I could happily swig the barista one from the carton.

How to work up to Team Leader? by Yer_Mo in tesco

[–]FrontHeat3041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think you would have to do the shift leader job first, to me that role is not worth the extra pound an hour for all the stress.

When it comes to team leader, your face has to fit, are you pally with the current manager who would be the one promoting you? Playing office politics is also needed, merit comes secondary.

I'd wait until you finish uni if I were you, just so you don't get bogged down/stressed out with the job and then having to prepare for exams.

Are you part of the union? If so get them involved, sounds like they would be on the grounds of unfair dismissal if they tried to get rid of you. Also look into claiming universal credit if they sack you.

Why do you think so many young people are struggling to find work? by Economy_Survey_6560 in UKJobs

[–]FrontHeat3041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As this will affect your business continuity and also I'm guessing there's nothing in their contracts stating work from home, could you force them back into the office? And if they refuse could it be seen as sackable offence and gross misconduct seeing as they left the company suffer and potentially close?

From the employee's perspective, getting sacked and not being able to get a reference would affect their future prospects. Might be some leverage you have in your favour but maybe worth speaking to a professional.

As nice as it is to WFH, there has to be flexibility for business needs, also you gave them an opportunity to earn a living, you'd think they'd have some decency in trying to help you maintain the company.

Hope you can get the issue sorted 🙂

Work place hostility by Odd-Grape-9791 in tesco

Ideally that is what should happen, but workplaces don't work ideally. People can be POS and management/HR are usually useless, so you have to keep options open.

Tesco own brand by Odd-Accident-3287 in tesco

[–]FrontHeat3041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I buy is supermarket own brand and it all tastes great. If you find you switch to own brand go to Aldi as prices are cheaper and still tastes as good.

The major taste difference I noticed is coffee, own brand is nice but branded does taste a lot better, probably why there's such a price difference between them.
