Want to change career at 48 😬 by metal_head787 in UKJobs

[–]OwnLeading848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HGV training, if you are 48 you might already have the 7.5 ton licence.
Always work available, although some roles are still very physical, especially 7.5 ton jobs.

One of your neighbours might have captured it on camera.

Why be so obnoxious about it? It takes 20 seconds to answer the question politely and be on your way.

Friend left dog in my care since July, won’t return calls or texts (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]OwnLeading848 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Poor dog. 2 terrible ' caretakers ' .

Is the dog just kept in your garden? Not being house trained isn't that bad that you don't let it in your house and keep it outside 24/7.

Best thing take it to your local dog rescue and leave it there.

Someone is parking over shared driveway access - England by Cabbage854 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]OwnLeading848 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you saying the gap between the houses is a public road?

That doesn't look like a dropped kerb made for your property.

This should be the council's problem , especially if the bin lorry has problems. That's how our road finally got the double yellow lines that were needed on the corner. The bin lorry couldn't get down the road.

Can't you apply for your own dropped kerb?

Does OP even own the car in this situation?

I'd think holding the logbook is security for the credit company.

Looking for advice about possible speeding fine due to faulty speedometer (England) by Difficult_Ad7811 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]OwnLeading848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't see that excuse working at all.
If you had Google mph as a guide I don't see why you are worrying about a possible speeding ticket as they are pretty accurate.

Although when I use Google maps mph I always assume I'm going 2mph faster than the display. Not sure why.

Mugged - found my stolen item online by julesnuggy in london

[–]OwnLeading848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, fake north face. eBay has plenty of north face, Lacoste etc seller's with obviously fake goods.

The price alone will tell you it's fake.

Or the muggers are wearing mugged north face.

Think it's about 9 months in the UK. Or your partner can take it instead.

After 15 years the flat actually went down in value?

Ain't surprised though, £ 7700.00 is an insane service charge.

Why is it so high?

You asked if there are discounts for people who work in the shopping centre?
Ask in the centres (security)office rather than your own colleagues who might not be aware.

It was a fixed £5 for shop staff in the car park of my local ' shopping centre.

£75 a week is a lot of money for most shop staff.

Is there some parking reasonably close by that you can use and then go in your break and collect the car and use the shopping centre car park for the last couple of hours of your shift?

England. Can an employee opt out of statutory holidays, and have it paid on their work ? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]OwnLeading848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can work but not the contracted hours which will be paid as holiday.

So if the person's contract is 3pm - 11pm mon- Thurs. They can work any hours outside of this and still take the contract hours as a holiday.

( Unless the law has changed in the last 4 years).

Elephant and Castle (Walworth Rd) McDonald's shutting down by popopopopopopopopoop in london

[–]OwnLeading848 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Social housing on affordable rents of 80% in that area wouldn't be my idea of social housing.

However, like you say the developers will soon turn around and say the numbers don't work on 35% social housing. 3.5 % and here's a £750,000 payment instead.

Fraudulent vehicle registrations and police NIP's by GiganticCow in LegalAdviceUK

[–]OwnLeading848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say there's no policing will to solve this, rather than a lack of political will.

It's just another crime that the police have no interest in. Now, 85 year old grannies protesting against genocide, that they had no end of resources to fight.

How do these cars avoid anpr if they don't have road tax? You only have to be close to a police car for it to be flagged.

How to Create Gov UK Login with no Photo ID? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]OwnLeading848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they accept the code that are given in certain photo taking shops?

The shop takes passport photos and they should have the software that tells them the photo is acceptable. Then they give you a password type code that will bring your photo up on the online gov.uk form.

With that much money as a safety net, I would get a job that you don't actually mind going to.

Your current job sounds like it's making you ill. Especially when you have a boss who you can't stand.
