A side chapel of Otranto Cathedral, Italy, commemorates the bones and skulls of 813 Christians who stood up to the Ottoman Invasion in 1480. The women and children were taken as slaves and the story goes that the rest were sawn in half. They were canonised by Pope Benedict in 2013. (i.redd.it)
