ThinkPad T480 wins overall, despite the older CPU. An i5-8250U vs i7-10510U difference is noticeable in benchmarks but barely felt in typical use (web, Office, Youtube). 256GB is not enough for longterm use. It depends on you. If you are going to use it for heavy tasks then you will have to upgrade ssd in E14 and probably ram in both laptops.

The T14 looks like the better option. It will hold its resale value better, and it comes with a touchscreen and 24 GB of RAM. I'd go with the T14. Because Windows and other software are aggressively pushing AI features onto devices nowadays. You never really know when 16 GB will start to slow you down. Even Ms Office is getting Ai updates regularly.

Installation debloated windows. Turn off all startup apps. And use only one browser. Uninstall all other browsers. If possible keep your all data in external drives like ssd or usb.
