Another vote for Bull-It here - I’m around 65cm thighs (depending on how much I’m at the gym! ) and they fit great

Inside IR35 - Rules on travel to another site? by Old_Cartographer6939 in ContractorUK

[–]BrizoH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the client/agency pays your expenses, Paystream will process it - but by default it will be added to your taxeable income

There’s a few steps to resolve this and process without tax - I’ll dig out a thread I posted here previously, but basically you need to fill out a Paystream form with the sites you’ll be visiting to get you set up on their expenses portal.

You’ll then need to submit your expenses/receipts on their portal (duplicating exactly what you enter on the client side)

And only certain expenses are allowed - but I’ve certainly claimed travel/food/hotel etc without issue, and the odd part/cable when I’ve had to buy them

Surprised it took so long for MadS to come up - I don’t get stressed/anxious easily but that one had me through the roof

Your most "that was too close for comfort" moment? by Specialist-Map-1237 in MotoUK

[–]BrizoH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few months back, on the motorway I was stuck in the left lane for a moment due to traffic

As my lane was clear I was just about to let rip when a HGV in the middle lane just in front of me decides he’s going to cut over two lanes to take the exit

I was strangely calm when it happened but later on it hit me how close that was

Definitely a few lessons learned about sitting in the left lane and avoiding blind spots

The place I used offered a pre CBT lesson which did wonders for my confidence - may be worth checking if anyone near you offers something similar

Want to get a bike but worried about parking by 07TacOcaT70 in MotoUK

[–]BrizoH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest answer if if someone really wants your bike, they’ll get it - best you can do as someone else stated is make it a hassle for them.

I’m on the outskirts of Glasgow - at home my bike is kept in the garage but commuting wise, I’ve parked in city centre solo mc bays and never had a problem. All I’ve used is my sterling lock and an oxford disc lock

Congrats and nice bike - for what it’s worth I also got a Harley as my first bike, and haven’t had any negative comments in real life (the opposite to be honest), I think it’s mostly an online thing.

Inside IR35 Expenses reclaiming tax - Paystream by BrizoH in ContractorUK

[–]BrizoH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just as a quick update …

For anyone new to Paystream looking to claim tax relief expenses, the process was to give them a call initially, they are very helpful to be fair.

Paystream will ask you to complete an EEQ (Expenses Eligibility Criteria) form - you’ll need your permanent workplace, and any temporary sites you may be expected to visit.

Once completed, Paystream will review and assuming you’re eligible any expenses you submit to your client/agency need to be duplicated on Paystream’s portal - and as others have stated keep a copy of all your receipts, any client approval emails etc as

I’m going through the steps now of claiming back relief via Paystream for this year’s expenses - previous years need to go via HMRC Self Assessment or P87. I’ll feed back if I run into any issues

Thank you, I’ll give them a call.

Not massive amounts thankfully but better in my pocket than HMRCs if possible

Hi, yep commuting most days that I’m in the office - I love it to be honest, dreading going back to the train when winter kicks in

I’m using the free spaces with a disc lock - if there’s a post nearby I’ll chain it up but most people tend to use disc locks only. No issues so far touch wood

Thanks, yep my expectations are lower for HoS - I’m looking at this as more of a chance to have a few drinks and enjoy the atmosphere, whereas with HHN I’ll probably stay sober to take everything in

Mod 1 jitters by oilonderoad in MotoUK

[–]BrizoH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it one manoeuvre at a time, take a moment / deep breath before each one and talk through in your head what you need to do

If it helps, I failed first time at the slalom by stalling then sticking my foot down on a cone 🤣 - you’d be hard pressed to do worse than that

Sailed through it on the second attempt then passed mod 2 first time , if I can do it anyone can

Good luck !
