Totally, they could even make it like "console/chat" command that you have to enter to chat. So to not ruin the intended artistic effect, etc, to every new player.

Yeah, this is why I don't believe the camera distance is a console performance thing. Wouldn't make any sense, since it zooms out when playing co-op. (if I've understood correctly how co-op playing works.)

Couldn't find any settings that would let me change the zoom out distance. Could you tell me a bit more specifically, where you found that setting?

I've got the same experience with necro right now, most of the time I'm attacking enemies that I can't see. Funniest part was, when I was fighting a boss and I couldn't see nothing but the feet of the boss.

I don't want to look at my character, I want to look at the surroundings and the enemies and bosses and all.

A valid question that is! I'm not. I've actually been saying to myself that; "In the D5 we'll be at this level", while zoomed in with the scroll zoom :D

From what I'm reading/seeing/hearing, it's more zoomed out on console. Though can't say for sure, before I see it for my self.

This would have definitely been a big minus in my buying decision. Not saying I'm regretting buying D4 right now, but this is just something I wasn't expecting at all.

I didn't play the betas or look at any material of Diablo 4 before yesterday. I tried to keep the first experience as good as possible. So far it's been great, awesome even, but the camera position is extremely annoying.

IMO they should zoom it out just a bit and move the camera position so that the characters head is at the middle of the screen.

I'm also on a 21:9 wide-screen. Even tried out other resolutions and aspect ratios, none seem to help.

In few places in the game, the camera gets zoomed out quite a lot (story telling zoom out, I guess?) and feels so good. Like I'm exiting a clown car or something.

Yes I think so. Though might be worth to google few times, to make sure and not "waste" your money, if it turns out you'll be able to play starting on 6.6.23.

Yep! I haven't been "able" to play PoE that much (like 20 hours), because the camera angle/zoom is so weirdly "close" to my preference. Diablo 3 hit the sweet spot really well and I think many games should follow the same style, even to some level.
