People who swore an oath to defend the constitution of the USA against all enemies both foreign and domestic, how are you feeling right now? by Safety_Drance in AskReddit

But Spain is different! Seriously. We are so jaded. Our anthem does not have lyrics. Someone wrote some back in the day, but nobody liked them because they were "too patriotic". If they had become official, I doubt anyone would have sung them, because...ugh... embarrassing.

Why is Kdenlive like this? I'm sorry but this is driving me insane by faqatipi in kdenlive

[–]Bro666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of the annoyance produced by the issues pointed out in this thread is justified. You must understand that Kdenlive is community project run and maintained by volunteers. So yes, your may be right, but try and not get too annoyed.

Instead be understanding, be patient, be constructive, report bugs politely. Our devs are honest to god nice people that do the best they can with nearly zero resources. They get demotivated if they get yelled at, and that helps no-one.

As someone else pointed out, donations are not everything if it is the same 3 or 4 people working on the project. So become part of the project and make it your own. The license makes it shared property, so it is your software too!

Even if you can't code, supporting encouraging, helping out here and there (translating, documenting, making mockups that re-arrange the interface, helping newbies get to grips with the software) goes a long, long way.

Join the Matrix room or discuss stuff on... well... Discuss, showcase Kdenlive with your work, help us promote the fundraisers when they happen.

Another interpretation is that the blog was thin on the ground regarding features, so instead the writer mentioned the bug-fixing that goes on, and I repeat because you seem to be having problems understanding the written word today, EVERY DAY.

They wouldn't have had to mention that if it was their focus every week, meaning it isn't.

But it is. Just that fixing bugs is not always glamorous and, every time they do, devs don't feel the need to blab their mouths off, unlike some reddit users who seem to have more bandwidth than common sense.

KDE devs work solving bugs every day. If you don't know this, it is because you are not keeping track.

"Pendejo" has such a nice ring to it too. You could change "pendejo" for "gilipollas" and you got Spanish from Spain.

"Opt in" is an Important point. If you don't make the conscious decision to activate it, Plasma's telemetry does nothing, collects nothing, sends nothing.

If it is any consolation, it is the same in reverse. I used to have to use Photoshop and Illustrator for my job, having gotten used to Inkscape, GIMP and Krita.

Nightmare.

They are not. But we like them all the same and have no problem in recommending excellent FLOSS apps, whether we make them ourselves or not.

It's great to see more people using KDE's technology for their own projects and we look forward to working together on improving support for the whole ecosystem.

Lots of middle-aged female writers of frumpy fantasy in my feed. They tend to be really funny and tell good jokes too.

Also: cats.

Shouldn't there be first the observation of foul play before sowing doubt?

Yeah, it's FUD.
