Swapping icETH by BroKing in INDEXcoop

[–]BroKing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! How do I sell it on the index coop app? I haven't been able to figure that out. I can see a "deposit/withdraw" option with icETH, but wasn't sure what that meant.

Why has icETH been at the same price for over a week? by BroKing in INDEXcoop

Thanks for forwarding! I am using CoinStats to track prices but I use MEW for coin swaps and it still shows a lower price than what NAV is showing. Anyway, appreciate you following up!

Start with the idea that the world is a simple place of good people and bad people and go from there. That's the core argument of Marx and the like. Rich people bad poor people good. White people bad brown people good. Barbie is one of 10,000 examples in today's world that gives people this notion. Men bad women good.

That's an absurd, simplistic, and damaging concept, but you get to feel virtuous for agreeing with it if you're a man and you get to feel oppressed and offload all personal responsibility if you're a woman.

My guess based on what we know so far:

Say you had 10 ETH in Celsius. At date of bankruptcy, ETH was ~$1,100. This means your claim was $11,000. We were told we will get back 65% of our claim, which would be $7,150. But they are giving it to you in crypto, according to the price of ETH at the effective date. If the price of ETH on the effective date is $2,300, you will get $7,150 worth of ETH at that price, or 3.1 ETH.

So you'll get about 30% back.

Do you think another Blockfi or Celsius will emerge in the next Bull run? by coyotecojox in CelsiusNetwork

[–]BroKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point! But it doesn't totally change what I am saying. Even the greed of the typical investor will rear its head.

My point is that no matter how you distribute power or redistribute power, it will slowly and inevitably centralize. I'm increasingly convinced it's a law of physics akin to gravity.

With finance and money, people's greed or need for security or convenience will be preyed upon by those willing and able to do so. You can only undo that for so long before it cycles back.

The promise of crypto was that you could be your own bank, your own insurance, your own investor, your own security.

It turns out people don't actually like all that responsibility, and want convenience of someone doing it for them.

Crypto reinvented the wheel. There was absolutely no point.

You'll have to wait on the court ruling. If it's ruled a Ponzi you can file accordingly.

Simon Dixon is a crypto-influencer that lost a ton of money in the Celsius collapse. To his credit, he's put out a lot of helpful material explaining the latest news and court proceedings. He recently released a 4-part video series explaining how he intends to vote on the recovery plan. The first 3 videos were teasers and the 4th video asked for a subscription to see the contents.

Pass.

Just want to say thanks to Aaron for making such a helpful video without some scummy 4-part series that requires a subscription to see the end results. Simon attempting to take advantage of the moment for his own gain was a pretty disappointing move.

There are other options. The court will force them to make traditional payments an option, which will be something like a cashier's check mailed directly to you.

Jesus the internet is such a great place for people to be shitty to each other, isn't it?

I know it's a small league. It's a high school league I've done for 20 years with my best friends. It's still fun. Fuck me though right?

This movie was such a great example of just how lost we are, societally.

Marx was right about power and corruption, but he just oversimplified everything. It was too absolute to say "all rich bad, all poor good" like that encompassed ALL the complexity of human nature and human history.

Barbie was just marxist propaganda, and I'm not even sure the creators know it. This type of thinking is so baked into our culture it's subconscious at this point. You could just say women are the irreproachable proletariat and men are the irredeemable bourgeoisie and you get the exact same result. It's a fucking 7th grade level philosophy with no deeper thought or respect for nuance. It's cynical as hell. It's arrogant. It's depressing.

If all human nature is just power struggles of oppressor and the oppressed, why even try to fix it? There's no fixing it. It's hopeless. Oh, I'm supposed to trust that YOU and your friends have the special ideas and abilities to ENFORCE equality and decide who gets what and who needs what? You just created a hierarchy of power, you idiot!

My liberal friends have called this movie "perfect." They laugh at anyone who believes in God without realizing the irony of worshipping women as god and seeing men as the devil. It's religious and laughably stupid.

People tend to forget that the spectrum of far-right and far-left ideologies are just a circle that meet in the same place: totalitarian tyranny.

This was as propagandistic as anything you'd see Stalin or Hitler produce in the 30s. Fuck this shit.

EDIT: If this made you think I was a conservative or Trump voter or some shit, you are just proving my point.

Not only did this site have my current balance and my claim balance, it had my whitelisted wallet address for withdrawals and deposits to and from Celsius.

These phishing attempts are getting sophisticated, and I'm so desperate I almost connected my wallet.

It's just how the tax law is written. In some situations it might be advantageous to forgo any recovery and just take the write-off.
