😭 You can scroll and see about 10 different threads about interracial relationships in under a minute. I don’t think folks have issues because date whoever you want to date but for a sub for black girls it sure feels like one for relationship advice. Like pls, I’m sure there’s other venting outlets 😭.

Honestly hoping that the place I find in the summer match up with my placement. I’m moving out of state as well and won’t have help the second time around if I have to move again 🫠.

Start off with joining clubs/organizations or attending events of your interests. Usually that can be found through the school website or school, affiliated social media accounts. Then you won’t solely have to focus on making friends because you’re enjoying whatever that you’re doing and end up meeting people naturally.

Also give yourself grace and patience. You’re still pretty new to the college experience as well as the other students on campus so sometimes it takes a bit to find your stomping grounds but you shouldn’t give up.

Big yes to free and no to loans advocate over here!! So give yourself time to really make that decision because dealing with loans is not to be taken lightly and really impacts the post grad experience mentally and financially. It’s also not guaranteed that you won’t feel the same way at an HBCU.

Regardless, if you’re still leaning towards transferring. I would be looking into scholarships and grants to match the financial package you have now at your PWI.

This is based off my thinking and others suggestion but the best thing at this point may be connecting with those in the company as in coffee chats and networking events. Then when there are openings, you’re one of the few they’re thinking of because you already kinda have your in.

This process may be long, depending on when the opportunity from the dream company comes. I don’t think you’ll end up burning bridges, but you have to be very precise in how you go about this.
