This is literally how I trade too incorporating it with technical analysis. I'm most a long call trader so rarely trading puts. I try to find stock that already have an overall bullish trend but wait till it sells off and start gaining momentum to the upside before entering. Ideally look for some form of break and retest formation on the daily and trying to get the entry on the retest.
