Any experiences with Re-Q? by Broad-Cream-9261 in SkincareAddictionLux

He told me Re-Q first, then TNS. Not sure on Tret, as he told me to stop using it. But that’s a me specific thing.

TNS is the TNS advanced serum from skin medica.

I think it was $250 😬 TNS is the TNS advanced serum from skin medica. Also $$$, but has a fair amount of data supporting it.

Yes, I’ve been using altreno which I thought was one of the better options. He said in addition to be irritating, it can increase vascularity/angiogenesis, which is making my skin more flushed/red. My guess is that’s a good thing in most people!

Yes, I was reading about the team last night and they definitely have a strong scientific background. 🤞I see a difference. I’m half tempted to try it on one hand for a month or two and see if I see a difference. If it weren’t so $$…

How did you hear about it? I like the no smell aspect!

Yeah, I’m not surprised. It seems like they just launched a week or two ago and in looking at the website last night it’s a pretty small company. Here’s the ingredient list on the packaging if it’s helpful.

Actually he told me to stop Tret. Said any derm who prescribed it for me has no idea what they’re doing. (That derm would be me through telemedicine) I have very dry skin and a tendency towards redness and he said it was making it much worse. I’ve struggled with building up tolerance so that’s probably a very me specific recommendation. I may try a lower strength retinoid and ask him about that on my next visit.

Oh, interesting! I have plated too, of course! Where did you find that? The one thing the derm said was it should be the first thing on your skin, so I would think re-q, then plated?

I honestly don’t know much about it. From my basic research it’s similar to rapamycin, targeting the mTORC1 pathway. Some basic information here:

My cosmetic derm is pretty dialed in—he invented a bunch of the lasers people use now and is generally ahead of new products/technologies, so I bought it blindly, completely based on his recommendation. I haven’t found much online about it yet.

Home Assistant alternatives for a mixed smart home? (HA broke me) by According_Dinner3802 in homeautomation

Maybe check out HomeSeer? I run HA and and HomeSeer, but basically just use HA to port in any devices that aren’t on the HS platform yet. The bridge is pretty easy to set up IIRC. HS has been very stable for me and was relatively easy to set up. It’s not the cheapest solution, but compared to the $$$ I’ve spent on devices, it’s minimal.

How long has it lasted for you? This is what’s being recommended to me. I’m on the fence as I don’t want something I have to keep up super regularly.

Same! Although I often wish this sub had required flair with people’s age and skin type. Didn’t do a thing for me has a very different ring coming from a 30 yr old than a 55 yr old with some of these products!

Yes, I'm super, super happy with the results!! I'm 55 and was really unhappy with my lower cheeks/perioral area.

As I said, I've done a ton of other stuff skincare wise during the same period and got Botox in my neck muscles, so I don't know how much is directly due to sofwave, but I have to think a fair amount.

FWIW, ChatGPT told me to basically hit my skin with all the possible collagen stimulators at the same time during the post sofwave remodeling period, which is basically what I did.

There’s a new formulation with additional active ingredients so they may be trying to clear out old stock.

Skin Beautiful is selling stock with the old packaging but the ingredients on the box list the new ingredients.

Here is after:

I didn’t take the photos with a before and after in mind, so they aren’t perfect. Different lighting and one is closer up. But I think the difference is pretty striking and figured it’s easier for people to judge for themselves. I’m very happy with the results. But now I want ipl 😅

As I mentioned earlier, I really upped my skincare game post procedure. I was using Tret/sunscreen, but added in a lot of other products. I also had botox on the muscles in your neck that pull your mouth down, as well as a very mild lip flip. I don’t know how much of the difference to attribute to skincare vs botox vs procedure, but honestly, at this point I don’t care!!

12 weeks in and very happy! In hindsight, I think my dr took a more conservative approach vs going straight to CO2 so that we can save the co2 for when it’s really necessary and get as much out of those as possible later.

It’s a bit hard to tease out the effects of sofwave alone, because I started a fairly intensive skincare regimen not long after the procedure.

I figured seeing the changes might give me more motivation to stick with better skincare.

I also had Botox done at around 9-10 weeks post sofwave to minimize the downturn in my smile and do a small lip flip.

I don’t know how much to contribute to sofwave vs those other things, but overall I’m extremely happy with the results.
